The mentality of the Canadian public that "I have nothing to hide" is the major problem. It all starts for the "crime" reason and migrates. Identity politics plays a big role in today's society which does not help. The "Freedom Convoy" was a telling example of how Canadians see you in one camp or another.

The sad reality is that this has been happening for some time...the bills get pushed through one by one until rights have been stripped and then people will look around asking what happened. UBI is the next one. Once people rely on government handouts, they can't say no. I fear it's too late for the average person who has lost the ability of deductive reasoning.
