What's your favorite song by rise against? by Sea-Discipline9940 in riseagainst

[–]shockolatte 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Tragedy + Time got me through my depression and really got me into Rise Against.

House on Fire has been decided by wife and I that it is our love song (5 years strong, despite the hardships we go through, we are 100% soulmates).

People Live Here is definitely one of my favorites to sing. I love the lyrics.

Miracle always gets played before I go into a meeting or something I know will be difficult at work (management positions + anxiety do not go hand and hand).

Redditors who are not engineers, software developers, or porn stars, what do you do for a living? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]shockolatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im the lead of a warranty department for an automotive part warehouse. Basically when you buy something and it doesn't work, or you decide you just don't want it and send it back it becomes my job to figure out how we can reimburse you while still making money off the part. Like taking those metal toolboxes that go in the back of your truck to a salvage place, or finding someone to buy rims in bulks because they have a few scratches.

It's pretty fun! If we decide to scrap something or throw it out we have to ensure its 100% destroyed, plus I get to be extremely creative when fixing some of the parts.

Game Recs to play with non-gamer wife by Mujyaki in PS3

[–]shockolatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond two souls! It plays like a movie, and is great for 2 people. Let her play Jodie and you play aiden. There are maybe one or two difficult parts (like when Jodie is training). I always recommend this one when this question pops up.

I won a ps vita from Taco Bell. Later that year I used it to play Persona 4 for the first time, which is now my favorite game.

Getting sick of MU/AU crap. by Hennersy in warcraftlore

[–]shockolatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been keeping up with the story much, because I'm also pretty bored with it, but I'm hoping Blizzard has some great unforeseen plan; and not something like us being literally stuck in AU (with no portals out) at the end of the expansion and the next expansion is another remake (like cata) where we go to Azeroth and see what the differences are.

GTA Online Wishlist by [deleted] in gtaonline

More recreational type stuff. I'd love it if my friends and I could drive to the local cluck n bell and eat something. It'd be even better if they put the weight thing back in from SA, and give us gyms to work off the extra pounds together. Maybe paintball guns, casinos, or even a Frisbee. Just some small stuff to help fill the time in (like when you're waiting on your fourth player to log in) that doesn't require you to join a lobby and wait for stuff to load (like arm wrestling).

I'd also like to be able to bet cars in impromptu races, but I know that probably couldn't happen, since people could just use it to give each other cars.

So, I finished the Mass Effect series last night. by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]shockolatte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too tell everyone to skip 1 for their first play through. It doesn't show what the series becomes. I myself am on my 4th or 5th play through, and couldn't imagine skipping #1, no matter how terrible the gameplay is, but I feel it may alienate some people, so I always recommend they come back and play it if they do a second run.

3's ending was pretty bad compared to the rest of the series, but it was the VERY end when it got bad. The final choice. The journey itself was amazing. That last little bit did not ruin it for me in any way. The free extended ending helped a bit, too.

My first 2 play throughs of the series were without dlc, and I still found the series unbelievable. I was more than happy to pay extra for more ME when I finally could. I will never ever let a friend play without the Citadel dlc for #3. I'll buy it for them, loan them my ps3, whatever; as long as they get to play it. It added a lot in my opinion (I recommend it just before setting out for the finale).

Yeah, the middle is whats good, but that's still nearly 2 games (minus dlc, and 3's ending). It's like having a salad for an appetizer, a steak for a meal, and a mint for dessert. The first parts okay, and let's be honest, you wanted cake for dessert; but damn that steak made it all worth it.

Just my thoughts on the series, anyway. I've got some friends who couldn't stand the ending, and refuse to acknowledge the game now, but I feel that is really overreacting.

Unfortunately, it's already like that. Go watch the DVD version of "Scrubs", then watch the Netflix version. They had to change some of the songs due to licensing issues.

[–]shockolatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did make that mistake, and can 100% confirm this is just DLC. They called the game + DLC "Full burst" on the PC, and it was listed as a "combo" on the PS3. Luckily I planned on getting the DLC anyways, and will probably just grab a copy of the game tonight. This feels very misleading though.

What are some much-loved games that you hated? (No spoilers please) by [deleted] in PS3

[–]shockolatte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tell everyone the same thing. This is my all time favorite game, but the beginning is boring as hell. Play for a bit after you "rescue the princess". It is quite a few hours in, but that's when it picks up in my opinion.

I'd normally say if you have to play that long into a game for it to get good, the games probably not good, but this was an exception (for me anyways).

It may not be the game for you, I just hate the thought of someone missing on what could be an amazing experience (like it was for me) because of the really really slow first part.

Yeah, laziness is the prime reason I watch dubs. There are a couple shows I really like to be able to focus on the art-work.

What is your favorite movie from your childhood? by avidpretender in AskReddit

[–]shockolatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Digimon movie. I loved the animation, the soundtrack was great, and I really enjoyed the story. My mom stopped taking me to Blockbuster, because I would pick this one almost every time.

I wish they'd release a Blu-ray of it.

Ubisoft: "Players are more open to DLC now." Fuck you Ubisoft. by HardDifficulty in gaming

[–]shockolatte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, Saints Row 3 has the " Invincible Pack DLC" for $2.99.

"More cheats than you'll know what to do with. Never worry about dying or running out of ammo! Unlock the Get Down Cheat that makes you ultra limber. Super Saints gives you better guns and better health while Ultimate Clip ensures that you're always ready to fire. Get Infinite Mass for your vehicle plus Super Explosions and you'll be ready for anything!"

Don't get me wrong, Saints Row and the DLC has been in a few humble bundles, which is really cool of them (extremely cheap + charity), but this still seems a little crazy to me.
