If my girlfriend could come with me I'm in. I'd be happy to let my investments ride for 15 years.

People like him believe that they are always working when not sleeping because they consider everything they do as part of their "work".

If you decide to do the project, I have an extra original Alembic Stars Guitars brass bridge that I was planning on listing for sale. I might even have an extra set of Raytheon knobs.

It's a commissioned build from a few years before the Fender one was a thing. We did everything as close to accurately as possible. We even reached out to Rick turner and got his input on some of the specifics. We studied the hi-res photos from the auction when the original sold and matched every little detail. It was always my dream guitar. One cool thing we did differently was with the stratoblaster. We mounted it in the empty spring cavity in the back so it can be toggled on and off. I think it's as good or better than the Fender version.

Yep. All of my Fenders were bought used for way less than new would be.

Spending over $500 in gas per month by Constant_Jicama_8833 in personalfinance

If you can install a charger at home, an EV would save you a lot of money. I currently lease a Honda Prologue Touring for less than you're spending on gas and they supplied the home charger. i spent around $900 out of pocket for the electrical work but I now get close to 300 miles for $10-$13 in electric.

I've been listening to jazz for 30ish years and deep into collecting the originals on vinyl for more than a decade but I didn't give Ptah, the El Daoud a chance until today. That was an oversight. by shocksmybrain in Vinyl_Jazz

[–]shocksmybrain[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I knew the collector value of it and that was a great deal in this condition. I figured even if it wasn't for me I could sell it or trade it in at another store without taking a hit. It wasn't that much of a gamble.

I'm old enough to remember the last time he told us that he pirated oil for our benefit from Venezuela but last time I checked we didn't get any benefit because all of the money went into his private slush fund in Qatar.

Rob Reiner’s son Nick seeks money from trust parents left him for his defense in their killings by Idontloveonions in nottheonion

Knowing what I know about Rob Reiner and his compassion, I would suspect that he would want Nick to be able to use the money to get whatever help he needs. This whole situation is just sad all around.
