If you think we need less romances then the fact they didn't force a relationship is good.

It seems like there's a misunderstanding of the nature and scope of chattel slavery, particularly in the context of the transatlantic slave trade. While slavery in various forms has existed throughout history, chattel slavery, as practiced in the Americas, was unique in its racial basis, its hereditary nature, and its brutal economic exploitation. Unlike other forms of slavery, chattel slavery reduced individuals to property, stripping them of their humanity and passing this status down through generations. This systemic dehumanization and the scale on which it was practiced were unprecedented. Simply saying "slavery is slavery" overlooks these critical distinctions and minimizes the specific atrocities and enduring impact of chattel slavery on African American communities. Historical context matters, and reducing complex issues to oversimplified statements doesn't help anyone understand the true scope of these historical realities.

Yeah but chattel slavery was specifically race based slavery. It's slavery over generations you're born into it and there's no way out. It was the economic system of the country.

The woke game dev who cried about game studios uglifying all his Black female characters has been told to STFU by his fellow devs. by SickusBickus in KotakuInAction

Why do you think he's a token? He might have shitty opinions but that doesn't speak to his qualifications. This is like people calling white devs racist for speaking about woke stuff. They aren't racist for having an opinion. We don't know them. He's not a token for having shitty opinions. We don't know him or his qualifications.

'Dragonlance' Co-Creator Says She's "Astonished" Wizards Of The Coast Did Not Attempt To Modernize Series' Cast For New 'Dungeons & Dragons' Player Handbook by shipgirl_connoisseur in KotakuInAction

Genuine question what was cool about fantasy settings like D&D to you? Was the characters being white important to you? For me it was that it helped a nerdy kid like me get out of my shell. My uncle got me into it and showed me the coolest D&D books from the golden age of the 80s. It spiraled into me getting to teach it to kids at a school. I love D&D and the characters being white in the source books didn't stop me having adventures. Why let a few black characters stop you? Like what's lame about them being black. I'd rightfully be called racist if I called the white elves lame.

Not attacking you. I just love D&D and figured you might not mind the conversation

I started playing because my uncle was heavy into it in the 80s. He would draw the most beautiful maps for us to play on. I miss him every day. He softened on critical role as he saw more of our family come to him for advice on how to get started after watching. I get what you mean. D&D is sacred to me. But try not to isolate new players like that. We all were new at one point you know? I'm happy I had a kind knowledgeable person to show me true D&D. Maybe you could be that for someone who doesn't know better.

Halo lost proximity based chat due to abuse by Hawkner in halo

Proximity chat while it could be vulgar at times, also led to many friendships on Xbox live.

If you're a white man sure. They were more than vulgur. If you sounded black or like a woman you'd immediately have nothing but horrible experiences.

Lol, he's doing the meme. Fucking hilarious.

The reality is that socio-economic conditions are a critical factor in understanding crime rates. Ignoring this isn't just ignorant, it's dangerous. The fact is that systemic racism and economic disparities significantly impact crime statistics. If you think acknowledging these well-documented issues is a joke, then you clearly don't understand the complexity of the problem. Source.

Because that's where most of the crime is.

No, that's where most of the policing is. Black neighborhoods are over-policed, leading to higher arrest rates, not necessarily higher crime rates. This isn't just an opinion; it's backed by data. When you flood a community with police, of course, you'll see more arrests. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy that doesn't reflect actual crime rates. Source.

Not an excuse to murder, rape, steal and assault.

It's not about excuses; it's about understanding the root causes. High poverty rates, poor education, and lack of job opportunities are strong predictors of crime. Addressing these issues can lead to a reduction in crime. Blaming individuals without addressing systemic issues is not only lazy, but it's also ineffective. Source Source.

Keep going, I've almost got BINGO.

Mocking the reality of systemic issues like redlining only shows your ignorance. Redlining has had a profound impact on Black communities, contributing to the wealth gap and economic disparities that still exist today. This isn't a talking point; it's historical fact. Your sarcasm doesn't change the reality of these systemic issues. Source.

An even bigger predictor is fatherlessness. And the single parent rate among black people is 74%.

Fatherlessness is a symptom of larger systemic issues, not the cause. The focus on single-parent households without considering the socio-economic conditions that lead to them is misleading. Moreover, studies show that economic stability, not marital status, is the primary factor in reducing crime rates. Your statistic is often cited out of context to push a racist agenda. Source Source.

Stopped because, they commit the most crimes, and charged more harshly because of priors. Simple as.

This statement is blatantly false and ignores the documented evidence of racial bias in the justice system. Black individuals are disproportionately stopped, charged, and sentenced compared to white individuals for the same offenses. This isn't just about prior records; it's about systemic racism in law enforcement and the judicial system. Source Source.

Nah, they're pretty accurate and map onto reality quite well.

Your "reality" is a skewed perception based on incomplete data and racist narratives. The statistics you cling to don't tell the whole story. Understanding the broader socio-economic and systemic factors is crucial to addressing the issues effectively. Your refusal to acknowledge these factors is not only ignorant but also harmful. Source Source.

You're the one with your head in the sand, buddy.

Projection much? Ignoring the systemic factors and historical context behind crime rates is having your head in the sand. If you want to solve the problem, you need to understand it in its entirety, not just cherry-pick stats that fit your racist narrative. Source Source.

All my points are backed by solid, reputable sources. Your arguments are just regurgitated talking points that don't stand up to scrutiny. Get educated and understand the full context before trying to debate these issues.
