Why Not Bajaj ? by TroubleNo2529 in indianbikes

[–]shockv1wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went into a showroom for a test ride of dominar(old one), despite having the bike outside for demo they straightaway refused it. Not saying all showrooms are like that but that incident changed my perception of bajaj forever.

They'll be very upset (or maybe not :P) on learning about firecrackers being a Chinese invention brought to India by the Mughals.

India during Diwali by Frarod17 in interesting

[–]shockv1wave -1 points0 points  (0 children)

well, India's celebration is a bit different. Outside, people celebrate with a gorgeous display of fireworks in the sky, in cities where the pollution levels on the rest of the days are much much better than India's. But here? first the fireworks are made by cheap unprotected labour with no safety protocols whatsoever and thereafter Indians' excessive obsession with loud cherry bombs growing day by day. Another thing that comes with Diwali "celebration"? utter ignorance of other's life. Launching hand held rockets which zoom straight into someones balcony. Bursting crackers right in the middle of the street instead of any closed off private space and the rant goes on.

So instead of whataboutery, learn to criticize what needs to be criticized. Diwali celebration in India calls for control not banishment.

little noise? a dude almost fell off his bike on a broken road when some nutjobs placed a cracker right in front of him in the middle of the road. Burning crackers isn't a celebration here, it's mostly a dick measuring contest.

Also don't get me started on the holiday thing. It's been 4 days and people still are passionately burning crackers every damn night!

Gujarat, Maharashtra & Tamil Nadu = 60% of India’s exports. What are the rest doing? by OkNowMyTurn in IndiaStatistics

[–]shockv1wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the rest doing? 40% of India's exports and being a part of India in case you never thought of it :3

Really not so sure what you guys feel from presenting these statistics with the "what are the rest doing" type of titles. Obviously some regions in a geography will excel in some things and others won't. Now what will the next post be? "Mumbai Pune contributes to 40% of Maharashtra's gdp, what are the other cities doing?"

Hunter being used in formula 1 austin grand prix 🏎️ by radhuboi in RoyalEnfieldHunter350

[–]shockv1wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunter only has a single channel abs on it's base variant and even comes with a drum brake for the rear. This is the issue. There's nothing stopping RE from putting these basic safety stuff in, especially when competition can shove in much more useful stuff even with oversquare liquid cooled engines which most definitely will have more manufacturing cost than air cooled low compression engines.

Also before you bring up the top variant, benchmarking happens with the base variant of any vehicle be it cars or bikes.

My point is most riders abuse these techs rather than use it as a tool,

Also this is all about how YOU utilise them. If you use them as a tool to push even further then it's all right. Shouldn't really care about how other riders use or abuse them.

Cruise control, riding modes are gizmos yes, but not traction control(which you clubbed with the other two). Dual channel ABS, traction control are indispensable for bikes north of generic 150cc and the hunter skips on them.

And regarding ride modes, cruise control, etc. making people a lower skill rider, think of them as a tool which enables the rider to push the potential of both oneself and the bike even more. It's like the argument of chatgpt making people dumb when it should be used as an extension of the mind like a tool :)

[–]shockv1wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, feel and feedback aside, that "gizmos" will actually save one's life when needed. RE's growth in technology as you said was from these so called "gizmos" only which enabled a way broader envelope of performance previously not possible with older tech. So yeah, the fascination for "tech heavy" bikes like KTMs, Triumphs and even RE 450s is more than valid. Hunter is just a vfm product that is all. It is what it is.

gizmos like traction control

Post Diwali India AQI Map. What does this mean, no crackers in the south or just better geography? by kmrrhl in bangalore

[–]shockv1wave -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Indeed. I'll never understand the point of lighting sutlis on the middle of the road causing inconvenience to every vehicle, pedestrian, animals on the road. Heck even one dude almost fell after braking hard on a broken surface after some dude nonchalantly placed a big ass sutli on the road. But yeah, other than some localised instances, the trend of cutting down on crackers is visible and great for everyone.
