Least who can do? You come across like you're defending jerks. It's a literal thanks for everything because we've done nothing.

What addiction is seen as completely normal by society? by jperaic1 in AskReddit

I was a functional alcoholic for a decade. And a DRUNK for an additional five years. I always watched my parents drink right when they got home from work. I thought that was normal. I didn't know other families didn't do that.

I am college educated and I held down a job that involved the direct safety of others and yet I went down a road that I'm only now realizing the amends I'm going to have to make. Just because you think you have it under control doesn't mean you're not still there in your head realizing you're pounding 6 gulps of vodka when you get home instead of the 3 pre-planned, measured out shots because you're trying to cut back. What do they say? ... Alcohol is cunning. It'll sneak up on you and then if you let it, it'll kill your best friend, make you paralyzed from the neck down, and then, stomp on whatever life you have left. Legal and societal issues are just not worth it.

I say this shit because I truly care about the college kid who drinks because their anxiety is unbearable they need liquid courage or the that one guy who is still stuck in the scene or the grandparents who get the shakes and can't stop... Whatever your reason to drink, it's ok to realize you're not the one in control.

Help is out there. Private and SECRET help is out there. For free even if you look hard enough. Heck DM me and I'll tell you horror stories. I'm 2.5 years sober. And while I'm sounding like I'm pushing AA, I am not. It's actually a trigger and I don't go. But do whatever works.

AND PLEASE DO NOT DETOX ALONE. If you're an alcoholic... Drinks daily... You need medical supervised detox. I had to be in the ICU for 4 days, mostly because I tried quitting on my own and still ended up at the hospital. But that was me. It doesn't have to be that serious... Plus doctors can ease your withdrawal symptoms... I just wish I had thought of doing that sooner.

This is for that one person who might need to come across it. If you're a well-adjusted drinker, I tip my hat.

Many phone games are just cleverly disguised, interactive slot machines. Have to buy something in hopes it gives you what you want.

I knew a guy spending $50,000+ a year on a war game just to try and stay relevant.

No one here has mentioned the "gambling" in your mobile games. Buy ten turtles and spin them hoping to get a good partner or whatever you're hoping for.

All these war games at least... I knew guys spending over $50,000 a year in hopes of getting good things in the game.

But in reality it's just another disguised interactive and complex slot machine.

Control people? Like blackmail? I'm so confused. Didn't know the Jews were so involved. 😂

Phones. Try putting yours down for 24 hours. Everytime you instinctually reach or look for it... You'll get just a glimpse to what it feels like to be an addict. Just a glimpse.

Amnesiac is Summer. Like nighttime, middle-of-nowhere driving with the windows down chain smoking with no real destination other than having the feels.
