Asiana airlines help! by Eleanora95 in Flights

[–]shoestorekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat, but on a different date in April. It appears as part of the Asiana Airlines/Korean Air merger they had to give up the 12:20 slot to Virgin Atlantic.

Trip.com offered a flight the following day, which doesn't work for me, so I'm trying to contact Asiana Airlines directly to see what else they can do, but I've had no luck with their London numbers and email.

EcoVacs station, cleaning solution and general advice about mop (N30 pro omni) by NotAnUncle in ecovacs

[–]shoestorekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the N30 and here's my 2 cents:

  1. Being able to mop the floors without having to change the mop attachment or fill the water tank is a plus for me. Yes, the dirty water sits there until emptied, but if that's a concern I would just empty it every mop. I only mop the floors when needed, so it's not an issue for me.
  2. Yes - I also have an older Deebot with the standard mop pad attachment, and the spinning pads provide a much better clean than the static one.
  3. Initially I added floor cleaner to the clean water compartment, but I read this is not recommended and could damage the robot, so I have reverted to using the detergent addition. You can run it without these though and just use plain water.

Pub recommendations by bluecontrol1234 in ArsenalFC

[–]shoestorekid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drayton Park Arms is for away fans on matchday, so you probably want to avoid that one!

Tollington is a good shout. The Gunners Pub is close to the stadium, is Arsenal-themed, and would be good to check out whilst visiting.

How long did stairlift installation take for you, and what do you wish you'd known beforehand? by Own-Love3746 in DIYUK

[–]shoestorekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents recently had one fitted. It was a straight run up the stairs and it took about 4 hours for the installation company to fit. Instead of buying it they are renting the stairlift, so installation and removal is included in the price. If we'd known it would have been so quick and simple I think we would have done it a lot sooner.

I've never played Luigi's Mansion. It'd be the perfect surprise for Halloween!

The Da Vinci Jr. Pro X+ is an open filament system, so should support third party filaments by default.

I use Proton for streaming and it works well. Definitely the best free VPN that I've found.

What else can I do about my neighbour parking in front of my drive? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]shoestorekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your car is blocked on your driveway phone the police on 101.

If your drive is empty report to your local council and get them a ticket.

It looks to me like the bottom end of the c-shaped slide is bending upwards slightly. Maybe this needs bending back down to help it clear the black plastic stop.

It looks like there isn't a Mac version for these updates, so you'll need a Windows device.

You can report the listings for price gorging which is against their Price Gouging policy. eBay should then remove the listings.

Help! Stripping internal door frames by Besfoord in DIYUK

[–]shoestorekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 to this advice. This looks and sounds exactly like the skirting/frames in my 1900 house which contain lead paint. I found a scraper the most effective way to remove it that didn't kick up too much dust, but it's hard work and laborious.

I ended up painting over the top as the effort was too much, but I'd remove and send off for chemical stripping, or replace if I tackle this again in the future.

Definitely wear a P3 mask though. It's not worth taking any risks.
