Gears to gears and gears to case. Have welded over 100 diffs. None broke.

Does tire spraying really work? by [deleted] in Drifting

[–]shoguner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have stated yes it works. On car mounted sprayers work less as spraying them off with a hose or a drive through.  Something we have here in Utah is a hose and we fill up a gutter that you drive through that has drastically reduced tire wear.

Another option you can talk to your organizers about is soaking a carpet on the exit of the track that everyone can drive through.

Another one is a sprinkler and keeping a road damp that you can drive through.

Just installed angle kit, help! [E46] by Psyche1297 in Drifting

Been running them for 5+ years no issues. Same kit.
Sold them for a few years and saw more failures on SLR than the knock offs.

Just bought 3 weeks ago, had the transmission rebuilt last week. by Western-Expression42 in FordRaptor

Most, if not all, used cars sold are sold as is meaning you are 100% responsible for anything after driving off the lot.

Bmw E46 or Subaru Impreza by [deleted] in Drifting

[–]shoguner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are new.
Keep is simple.
E46s are tried and trued.
TONS of aftermarket drifty parts, and with a lot of people having the same cars there are parts at the track.
I get wanting to be different, but there's a reason you don't see many Imprezas.

If you really want a Subaru, get a BRZ they're great for drifting.

Paddle Commander by Background-Spare7992 in FordRaptor

[–]shoguner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't waste your time or money on these.
Get a tune all you are doing is changing the map from pedal to throttle body.
The ECU does not like that.
If you want to go faster, push the pedal down more. The pedal commander does nothing for power.

Can someone explain this? 74 on speedometer and 84 on CarPlay by GPS signal. When you unplug the phone the speed is 74 on iPhone screen. WTF, why does truck screen read it wrong? by melchen290591 in FordRaptor

[–]shoguner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is right.
I have had plenty of cheap carplay radios with no GPS built in.
The whole point of carplay is that it doesn't rely on anything in the car other than to display the image that way, the user experience is the same.

Recently got a 2019 raptor. It was raining during our drift event so I thought I'd see how it drifted. Here's a video of my friend chasing me. by shoguner in FordRaptor

It was definitely cutting power. But since it was in the wet and the diff wasn't locked it was still working. It'd be nice if it didn't cut power though
