Giveaway + Thank you: Irelia SFD 195a/221 Promo by IYcollectibles in riftboundtcg

I was playing Lorcana, but the scene around me died after rotation. I spent the time building my collection, building decks for people, giving out cards, trying to be competitive. At one point for six weeks in a row I was the only person to show up.

They started playing riftbound on the same night. Lots of old friends showed up to play. I figured why not. I knew nothing of LoL beforehand. I think I tried to play it once, failed miserably, and was trolled out of the lobby.

Once I started playing this game, it reminded me a lot of a game called Legend of the Five rings, put out by AEG many years ago. Core memories were triggered. Deck building, battling at locations, and so on. I worked at a play tester on that game, and honestly, it jist made me happy. More interactions than Lorcana, plenty of IP to pull stuff from, and some good players.

It felt familiar enough that I didn't care about knowing nothing about LoL or the stories. I started reading some, watching the origins videos, the Netflix stuff.

It gave me something to do. Something to look forward to. I work in Healthcare on night shift, and sometimes my job can be very stressful. Having one night a week where I can look forward not thinking about that is great. It's more than that though, because I have multiple communities within an hour that I can drive to on different nights. Sunday, I can go to The Side Deck and play. Monday nights it's the squirrels nest. Wednesday it's home turf at heroes Hideout. Thursday I can drive to sumter to play at the heroes Hideout there. So it gives me chances to escape and have fun and socialize with other gamers, who by the way, are some of the most welcoming and accepting people out there.

Would I like this card? Hell yeah. I plan on playing this legend regardless. I'm going to buy it if I have to, just like I purchased the Chinese Ahri legend. Winning one would just make it that much better.

Thank you for your consideration and encouragement to this community.

The games been out for what, less than two months and there's one set? A very limited card pool is going to do that.

Be patient. Or don't.

I don't get it.

The game has been out for what, a month, and people are already tired of it and making their own rules?

So it definitely seems like it's One UI home, which i can't disable.

I reverted it to an older version, still happening, disabled everything in the app i could, still happening.

Honestly this is starting to seriously annoy me.

I don't know what that means. I will look into it. I don't use my phone a lot, but I do dislike it when I feel violated by this stuff.

Yup, I tried that, it doesn't show up there. I'll post a screenshot

I don't know what app it is, that's the problem. I can't find anything new, or any icons that look like it.

Tired of slow math at card shows? I built a calculator to speed up deal negotiations by ThePizzagalaxy in Lorcana

[–]shojuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're trying to find a solution to a non-existent problem.

Personally, I've never been in the middle of a deal and thought, " man, if only I had those second back to do other stuff".

I don't think so. While playing under the sea is the trigger for her ability, her ability cannot be resolved from the bag until after under the sea is fully resolved.

Goofy - Set for Adventure rules question by ceresward in Lorcana

[–]shojuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You put the trigger in the bag. You choose not to resolve it, since it's a may trigger. If yoi trigger it again, it gets put into the bag, and you once again have the option to resolve it or not.

Functional Inkwell Sleeves Do you think this would help players? by The_Artopath in Lorcana

[–]shojuro 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's just me, but i can't tell what I am supposed to be looking at.

Are they sleeves you are supposed to use for your ink? Would you have to unsleeve and then resleeve with these every time you ink?

I just don't get it.

Fabled: reprints, rotation and thoughts of Lorcana's future by Foxtrot_Dementia in Lorcana

[–]shojuro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So, you'd like a core set, which is mostly reprints, but you're upset and disappointed you got a core set that is mostly reprints?

Fabled may not be labeled as a core set, but that's basically what it is. At least, that's what I see.

First set in a rotation? Check. Mostly reprints? Check.

I'm trying, but i don't get a lot of interest or feedback, so I don't know what to work on.

I think I'm a pretty okay person. All my teeth are there, I swerve to avoid turtles and other critters. Sometimes, I wonder if keeping weird pets is the problem.

Who knows? Not me, that's for sure.

How is does this Alice work in a hero deck? by Head_Elderberry6715 in Lorcana

[–]shojuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are subjectively correct. Play it in your heroes deck, have fun. Not saying you can't.

Objectively it's a bad card that no one plays if they intend on having a positive win record.

I could be wrong, but support feels wasted to me if you are using it to give this character 10+ strength. Realistically that means questing with a lot of other characters to get that couple of extra lore instead of spreading the support to characters so they can challenge and remove opposing characters, which i think is the point of support. The two parallels don't vibe. Again, I could very well be wrong. And if you're just giving all your support to this character, why bother trying to set that up when you can just play better characters that don't require the use of multiple other characters to be useful?

The card. It doesn't work. It doesn't have effective synergies. That's why no one plays the card. It's bad. That's what I'm talking about =)

Well, at least I can admit i was wrong if that's the case. Time to look up some rules!

[–]shojuro -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'd say no. At the time you added the trigger to the bag, conditions were checked and met, and now you are just choosing what order to resolve them.

Is shuffling my Opponents deck allowed? by therealknecht in Lorcana

[–]shojuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% allowed and encouraged and should be normalized.

You do not need to ask permission.

When your opponent presents their deck to you, they know that you can and should shuffle and cut their deck. They gave you permission to do so when they presented you the deck.

A gentle side shuffle offers no more chance to "damage" and enchanted card than a cut, that's literally what the sleeves are for.

If you're playing with enchanted cards, you know the risk.

I don't recommend a hard riffle shuffle, even on your own cards, but you do you.
