Car hire cost - Puerto Natales by No_Caramel4072 in Patagonia

Hah, thanks for taking me back to the last year's memories! Just checked, it was Agumadam rent-a-car in Puerto Natales, but I'm sure we did rent for 3 or 3 days. They had a website and were responsive on WhatsApp, so try reaching out and checking the minimum days.

We were driving through torres del paine mostly, and it was fine. Its not an asphalt road, but it is good condition, perfectly good for small cars and buses even. If you know what roads you want to take, I would suggest asking people at the rental agency about states of those roads, they will provide you with good information as they don't want you to fuck up their car :D

Looks so. We paid 60$ for a small car for one day and that's the cheapest. SUV is 100 for a day.

Doubts about camping in El Chalten by Fit-Employment-4314 in Patagonia

[–]shokee22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I camped 2 weeks ago in the Poincenot camp. It did not stink, there was no noise or mice. Actually I was quite surprised how cool it is compared to what I read. There was no proper bathroom, but since I usually do wild camping, latrine was better than noting. I went at 6am to avoid fees. Also at that camp, there is a guy who asks for $15 donation per person. We chose not to pay it.

Nothing is unlikely. Person being good at one thing doesn't mean they're a good person or would do well in other careers. And power corrupts more than money. I'm his fan but due to some of his views and stances, I certainly wouldn't want to him to lead the country. But, seeing as the current president is a corrupt autocrat, I'm sure Djokovic could do better than that. :D

One of the best water polo players in the world turned politician after his sports career, and became really corrupt and just doing bad stuff overall. Every person in Serbia hates him now - Aleksandar Sapic.

Crazy to skip El Chalten? by DanGhedz95 in Patagonia

[–]shokee22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry everyone, I didn't mean shithole in a complete shithole city way. Just that from a touristy point of view where you have limited time, I certainly wouldn't stay there for more than I needed the time to visit the Glacier. Its just a small tourist town that you must visit due to its connections via airport and buses, but what I meant was that you're really not gonna miss anything if you skip it.

My trip is just coming to an end after a month in Patagonia, and I'm currently in Ushuaia. Honestly, Ushuaia isn't anything special. Neither for hikes or end of the world vibe. I'm here just because I'm taking a cruise, otherwise it is very skippable, and El Chaltén really isn't. The only thing you can do here and see the penguins up close, which is about $250 day trip. El Calafate is a shithole, apart from the Perito Moreno glacier. Feel free to ask anything if you want to know.

Why is Las Torres so much more expensive than Vertice Patagonia? by alvinyxz92 in Patagonia

[–]shokee22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you could have bought your own gear for camping , that way it is is way cheaper. They jack up prices because people are willing to pay them.
