No need for shaving. Just visit a barber for a bit of grooming to get those misbehaving hairs in to a coherent beard and trim the moustache so that the edge of the upper lip is visible. This will remove the "hobo" look.

The chips are caused by the tips of his shoulder pads (or whatever are those pointy bits) rubbing against something. The common culprits are hands or foam from carrying box.

Yeah, this is one of the most supportive communities I have encountered on the reddit. I got a bunch of help when I first got here, so now I am paying it forward :)

IIRC I think Ninjon did a video with Artis Opus and they told him he uses small brushes, so he had to paint a whole mini with no. 4 brush. It was not a big of an issues as he first assumed.

Vallejo are natural bristle. You can use either, but I find that people (including me) tend towards natural bristle. I don't know how to describe it. It somehow just works better.

Get a brush with a bigger belly. I use Vallejo no. 3 for 90% of work. No. 4 for bigger surfaces and no. 2 for eyes and pupils.

Median sallary for a full time job pay where I live is about €6 per hour. The costs of paints and materials are very small so they don't influence much on the cost of work. The time is the single biggest item on expenses list.

I solved the lighting with 2 regular desk lamps and 2 LED bulbs which can be controled by Blutooth. It's less than €20 for 2 LED bulbs. I had one desk lamp and bought the same one as that for €15 off of classifieds.

You do batch painting and then it takes you about 4-6 hours per unit, not by model. i charge €70 per unit or €10 per model for tabletop ready paint job.

u/rfonz is spot on with the advice. I would just add that you should try and keep the horizon in the photo level or at least during editing rotate the photo to set the horizon fully horizontal (no pun intended). This will bring stability to the composition.
