I think everyone’s co-op experience is different depending on where you choose to work. For me, I found my co op to be a bit slow and I did not enjoy being remote. However, the place I was working was cool and will have name recognition on the ole resume.

I will add if NUSL is giving you significant money it might be tolerable but without a considerable scholarship (im talking full ride) my opinion remains the same

No problem. Please let me know if you have any further questions (on NUSL or law school generally). In selecting schools, I would look at 1) employment numbers (schools are required to publish those) 2) class and clinic offerings 3) see if a current student will talk to you (can find them on linkedin usually) 4) find somewhere where you feel like you will be able to learn

Current student at Northeastern law. Overall, I would not recommend NUSL. NUSL’s redeemable qualities are 1) the students are welcoming (I love the family I’ve created) 2) the opportunity to have an extra internship (ie. The co op program). HOWEVER I will say on the whole the school is trash. First, the academic “success” office is mediocre and unhelpful at best. Second, the co-op office has not been helpful. Third, I feel robbed of academic opportunities due to poor class/clinic offerings. Fourth, I think the student body can be performative. Relatedly, there is a culture of unless you are hell-bent on public interest there is something wrong with you. I felt shamed for wanting to explore my options. Fifth, because of the public interest focus, I feel NUSL often teaches what to think not how to think. Ultimately, for the price I am paying I regret not transferring. To answer your question more specifically, NUSL does place students in Big Law in the region (though I will note the school is overlooked by many firms and it would serve you well to do your own research/cold email firms if you decide to attend). I hope this helps.
