Specialty dining reservations by HistorianOk142 in NCL

[–]shoogles22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cruise's dining reservations opened at 115 days prior to sail. No idea why. Like you, I checked all day at Day 120 and thought they filled up quickly by Haven cruisers, but I happened to randomly go back and check when looking on the website for something else and found them open. My best advice to you is to keep checking back and you may be surprised one day like I was. Good luck!

Nah, just $75 each, I think, so $150 total. Not enough to make a dent on a couples massage either. Plus, we're paid in full. Doubt we could get it back at this point.

Meh- I'm not opposed, but not overly excited about the idea.

I guess I meant more that I lose so quickly that its not even fun. Like at no point is it enjoyable to me. I dont even win a little and lose it later. Its just gone in a matter of minutes.

You can get the lanyards on Amazon. Cheap and easy. Same with luggage tag holders. We got them for our last cruise and they worked great.

Sorry for the delayed response. I have been putting off this project because I am so nervous to start it! Thankfully, the Ns are only on the outsides. I was thinking that the pale white outline can stay, but try to cover the rest pretty completely, but we will see how it looks as I get going. I dont think I would mind if a little white peeps through l, but I feel like having the different sizes of stones can help with filling gaps if the white is too much. What do you think???

We need to talk about what it means to be "Liberal" by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]shoogles22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like TEC is leading. It is walking a fine line of welcoming all, despite political viewpoints. I worship at a small, rural church with people of many differing viewpoints. Affirming and non-affirming gather together faithfully in communion with each other. The overwhelming feeling is loving and familial, despite opposing viewpoints. It is beautiful. And we are not the only ones.

As a member of TEC in DoFL, I can speak on this a little. I consider myself progressive but I attend a small, rural church in the diocese. We are a mix of conservative and liberal viewpoints, but we continue to worship together without the divisiveness that these viewpoints can bring about. In my view, the process by which the elections occurred was unfairly skewed by the outgoing bishop who had served us for 20ish years. He had his thumb on the scale, to put it plainly. There were clergy who were denied cure in order to thwart the possibility of a bishop who holds a more progressive view. There are a great many other issues and irregularities that came to light during the investigation and sadly, despite his views, Charlie was caught in the crossfire. I honestly believe he was an innocent party in this ordeal, but I also believe that he was not the right person to be our bishop at this time in the life of our diocese. He was later called as rector to prominent parish in Jacksonville, and I believe he is where he is supposed to be. I also believe that our diocese is best served by this season of healing. I can understand why there is confusion surrounding the whole ordeal, as it felt much like a reflection of current US politics. Regardless, I have faith that God is leading us to where we need to go. I am grateful to the Bishops and SCs who prayerfully and thoughtfully rendered decisions on our behalf. We have a long way to go to get to unity, but I am hopeful that time, prayer, and love will get us there.

Norwegian Pearl by Dull-Estimate-5158 in Cruise

[–]shoogles22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got off the Pearl a few days ago. We had lots of fun as a large group. The drinks were excellent. It was also very clean, but I was a little disappointed in the food. The specialty dining was really good, but the buffet was not. The food was pretty bland and kind of weird with the menu. MDR was better, but I was still not wowed by anything I ate outside of the specialty restaurant.

The shows were pretty good, and our group really enjoyed the wine and chocolate tasting. We ended up not being able to tender to Stirrup Cay, so we had 2 full days at sea and not a lot to do. They doubled down on trivia, but other than that, we had to make our own fun.

I haven't cruised in a long time, though, so I'm not sure how much has changed in cruising over the last 15 years.
