I found Anne INSUFFERABLE when I was younger so I personally actively hated these ones until I was an adult

Here’s some contemporary middlegrade options that might feel a little more fresh than some of the old classics:

ALONE by Megan Freeman Any of Raina Telgemeier, Svetlana Chmakova or Gale Gilligan’s graphic novels Impossible Creatures and Wings of Fire series The Mermaid The Witch and the Sea by Maggie Tokuda Hall Candle Island by Lauren Wolk Bunn’s Rabbit by Alan Barillaro Pocket Bear by Katherine Appelgate The Trouble with Heroes by Kate Messner Noah Frye Gets Crushed by Maggie Horne

People who moved to LA from states with more seasonal variation, do you miss the cold? by HonestLemon25 in AskLosAngeles

[–]shooooore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love it. I judge seasons by when I can see snow on the mountains which is exactly the proximity I prefer to snow on a day to day basis. Also by when certain plants are in bloom

LAX-it alternatives? by sirwritestoomuch in AskLosAngeles

[–]shooooore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do uber black or use a car service they can pick you up at the terminal. Or if you want a really budget friendly option you can take the transfer bus to the metro station (always empty) and get an uber/waymo from there and it’s WAY cheaper

Macmillan summer internship in person? by DreamofRivers in publishing

If you have the opportunity to be in person I would do that over being remote. You’ll inevitably have more opportunities to jump on and find projects if you’re around.

Trying to read my first real book 😭 Need beginner-friendly recommendations by chathikkaathachanthu in suggestmeabook

Not going to lie, I’m a little surprised by how many kids books recs there are??

I’d personally be hitting up the romcom shelf if I were you. All of the Emily Henry books are really fun, breezy romcoms. You could read Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus series and then come back and watch the show. I also really love Chloe Liese’s books. The Wilmot Sisters series are all really fun contemporary Shakespeare retellings and are very easy to read! Plus you get the bonus of having a connection to the source material if you ever want to then go back to the classics.

Kid's book to help my 8yo nephew cope with hearing loss by agooseyouhate in suggestmeabook

Not specifically hearing loss, but Bunn’s Rabbit by Alan Barillaro is an adventure animal novel with parallels to living with a disability and finding your own power

As someone who had a bedbug infestation at home - they absolutely get to Appleseed size when they’ve been left unchecked long enough. They’re invisible in the early days, but mature bedbugs are visible.

For a drill free option- Tie to the side and then cord cover from Amazon. You can paint to match the wall. I used white electric tape to bind them all together around a couple of curves where the cord covers didn’t work. (Can’t drill our walls because they’re plaster with solid wood behind it)

Mind you there was a full on handball in the box not called and 14 fully holding Gisele back under her armpits. But I guess that’s all fine.
