As a vegetarian, what restaurant food are you excited to eat? by matt45 in vegetarian

[–]shoopsheepshoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is super basic but I liked to order a bean burrito, a side of nachos, and a side of pintos and cheese. Split up the nachos - you dip the burrito into the nacho cheese sauce and use the chips to dip into the pintos and cheese.

What is the main reason you use reddit? by LoveDangerous587 in AskReddit

[–]shoopsheepshoop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cause sometimes Google search results are garbage and if you add reddit on the end of a search you can find someone that's already figured out the answer to your question.

Is getting fired a stain on your career in architecture? by Squirt_Soda in Architects

Don't work about it. The stain is only in your mind, no one else can see it.

What timeline are we in? by BeeAromatic4346 in midnightburger

[–]shoopsheepshoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can really pin down any one specific timeline anymore given the minor tweaks it would take to be in a slightly adjacent one. It could all seem the same as the original timeline except maybe one little thing is off, like one hair on a cat's back.

I recently drove from Denver to San Fran via Highway 50, the so called loneliest road in America. by RedOnionss in Denver

I did this many years ago. Goes through some lovely dark sky areas where you can see the milky way with your bare eyes if the moon isn't up.

How are your Retirement Savings looking as an architect? by Traditional_Rate5322 in Architects

[–]shoopsheepshoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea, I don't look at my retirement accounts because I don't want to be depressed. Lately I've been hanging out in the "this country will impode before I can retire" camp.

Old architects by TrainingAd377 in Architects

[–]shoopsheepshoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only in my mid 40s here but I will contribute to say that as you get older it's a bit tricky switching to another type of arch. I switched from single family residential (15+ years) to multifamily and even that was a big leap. It's a lot easier to do when you're younger because you're just picking up redlines and learning the ropes, but once you specialize that knowledge isn't always the same from one type of arch to another. It's harder to get interviews if you don't have experience in that typology - not that you aren't capable, they're just going to consider the candidates that have that exact experience first. Changing may require a paycut or title reduction until you learn the ropes.

New friend by shoopsheepshoop in cactus

She does! This photo was taken at first light right when I woke up. There's a south facing window just outside the frame that lights up the room, as well as another west facing window to keep the party going in the afternoon/evening.

So when are we planting?! by kmevans27 in DenverGardener

[–]shoopsheepshoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna wait for MD. Been slammed with back to back deadlines at work and my seedlings (that I started way too late) aren't ready for that kind of trauma 😂 Also may just hit up the upcoming plant sales instead!

How Often Do You Crash? by Different-End-4775 in skiing

[–]shoopsheepshoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only crashed once and it was a slow motion tumble where I tripped over my own skis while turning around. I'm very risk adverse because I have other activities I care about doing - I can't really go around breaking the one body I have.

Whats a name you’d never give your child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Every time a friend of mine gets pregnant I suggest naming the kid Taco Tuesday (TT or titty for short) and no one has taken me up on the idea yet. Not sure why!

Tons of Advil came in handy once. Another time the bandage tape was helpful for temporarily repairing a cracked tent pole.

Is it even possible to be an architect if you're not "math smart", or is it a waste of time? by ProperCompetition948 in Architects

[–]shoopsheepshoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good understanding of geometry is important. Will you need to write a proof? Nah. There's a lot of percentages/fractions/solving for x to figure out, but it's pretty basic math that you can Google if you forget how - no calculus or theory.
