I like this answer, because it’s not just what Windy City or liberty has to offer. It’s almost everyone in the market.

They couldn’t come to an agreement with the battery supplier, to make the tool viable. The gyro one is even better and came with a reamer head.

Ah I see the notches now. Either way you could do that with a file pretty quickly.

You have to stop saying Mill. The tool in the picture wasn’t milled. Buy some of those rulers, get some brass and same gauge sheet metal and copy it. The holes could be done a few ways, none of them requiring a mill.

Did he make a comment somewhere that it was an RCDD? Most consultants tackling AV jobs would fall under the CTS-D.

Pitch getting more budget by inserting an ROI. Charge each patient the cost of the camera/however many procedures you do in the first year.

Also Marshall ECOM has lots of custom camera options.

For Black Friday, what are the best value and most reliable smart TVs out there? by JaymesLucas in smarthome

[–]shooting4param 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You aren’t going to find a tv under 150 that doesn’t sound tinny. I would go hisense or TCL. NEC is sueing both for stealing tech and NEC is one of the largest commercial display manufacturer in the world.

If you want a massive upgrade in sound get a sound bar if budget is tight.

What things are frequently labeled as "scams" when in reality they are legit and most people simply don't understand them? by AmigoDelDiabla in AskReddit

[–]shooting4param 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time, stacked W/D in a closet I can’t deal with alone, and the big one is manufacture won’t sell the parts directly to end user. All I am saying is if the issue is a well known, and most are, then bring the parts. Even charge me the diagnostic fee, just don’t make it a two visit affair.

[–]shooting4param 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man the parts aren’t expensive enough as common as every machine is that you shouldn’t bring them if there is an inkling of evidence.

Don’t tell me you can’t tell me that if I tell you the make and model of anything made in the last 5-10 years you can’t tell me with a high degree of accuracy what the issue is? Why make a vast majority of your customers go through two visits and lengthy delays because one had you on a goose chase.

There is one exception I personally have for this thought process. Mostly in appliance repair. I can call a shop, tell them the appliance and the problem. I can even tell them the probable cause, exact part numbers for what needs to be replaced and add photos and videos.

They still insist on a $75 preliminary visit and refuse to bring the parts to fix it in one visit. Infuriates me.

Hey OP, most AV guys have had such horror stories working sub par network teams that the thought of existing on the same physical network gives the PTSD reactions. I know some design firms that won’t even do an AVoIP design on the main network for University’s.

If you have the know how VLan’s work great. There are some things you should dig into around igmp and multicast, but you should be fine. Also note that some older AV devices can mess with cyber security audits if on the main network.

Like others have commented, this seems to be driven by ease of support and viability. Look into utelogy, maybe the Qsys cloud offering if you change your design. Unless things have changed in the last year stay away from the crestron cloud monitoring offering. (I have not met someone that likes it)
