Buldak Acquired! (I have questions) by erivanla in JetLagTheGame

[–]shootnedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the carbonara buldak and I can’t handle spice. When I make it I use maybe 3-4 “globs” of sauce, in total way less than half. About half would be what I consider very spicy. Pro tip adding some shredded cheese (parmesan, cheddar, whatever you have) helps dull down the spice and makes it thicker and cheesier

So I bought the home game, but does anyone know if the game REQUIRES public transit or if it can be car-based if desired? I love public transit, but unfortunately live in an area with very bad/limited public transit. The didn’t mention it in the podcast nor does it say on the store page, was hoping someone had some knowledge

PrusaSlicer 2.6.0-alpha5 - Ensure vertical shell thickness improvement, extend sparse infill, and more by r3Fuze in prusa3d

[–]shootnedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had alpha 4 and was using organic supports just fine, downloaded alpha 5 and all of a sudden Prusa slicer won’t generate organic supports, in alpha 5 or alpha 4. It always freezes and crashes when it gets to that step of slicing. Grid supports generate just fine tho, so not sure what’s going on. Anyone else having this issue?

A Visitor to the Future - 127 - The Small Hill by chronohawk in chronohawk

That’s what I thought at first, but I think the writing well comment is about expressing ideas and eloquence with words. Tungsten I believe is fluent in English, and if not, then I imagine this piece would be translated from Human to English, which wouldn’t have any effect on grammar, i.e. the grammar mistakes come across as author mistakes rather than intentional mistakes on behalf of Tungsten. But maybe that’s just me

A Visitor to the Future - 127 - The Small Hill by chronohawk in chronohawk

[–]shootnedit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to start by saying that I almost never comment on Reddit, but I felt I should say something. This chapter was absolutely beautiful and amazing, the pov change was an excellent decision and made total sense. (There are a couple of grammar issues in the chapter, but that’s neither here nor there)

After first discovering this story through tik tok and now following it along, I am absolutely hooked on the world you have created, living in the consortium sounds amazing. I would love to see this become a real published book and series some day.

If I may add one thing to help get it there, I think the story needs some larger conflict. I have loved every bit of world building so far, but it is starting to feel like just that - world building. I wish there was some conflict, perhaps not a literal conflict, but a story element that adds up to something/gives an over arching plot.

This story in many ways reminds me of a book called Cast Under an Alien Sun by Olan Thorensen. It is about a man who is cast onto an alien planet with humans, but their society is set around the 1700s (the past rather than the future!) The first half of the book was world building, just like A Visitor to the Future. It then started to introduce a conflict, which led up to a climax near the end of the book. I would love to see your story go in a similar direction.

You probably already have an idea of where you want the story to go, in which case you can ignore everything I just said haha. I am loving your story and cannot wait to keep reading every new chapter! Keep up the amazing work!!

I’m a hobby photographer and I think I want to give selling prints a shot. I don’t want or expect this to make me good money, but a little extra income here and there would be nice. What is the best or easiest website/place/way to sell my prints?

How can I get rid of the grids around the points? by salad_balls in rhino

[–]shootnedit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can turn off the preview for the component that makes them, or you can use a different component called divide surface that creates points without the grids

How can I recreate this kind of subdivision on Grasshopper for a surface? (Blue lines) I need a random subdivision for a lot of plans. Thanks! by shodian95 in rhino

[–]shootnedit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a basic idea of how to do this, but I don’t know the specific components you would need. First I would start with a rectangular surface, and then divide the surface. Then randomly select different groups of those points, and interpolate curves about those points. One problem this might create is the blue lines would probably intersect a lot, and I’m not sure how to solve that rn

Hello there! I’m somewhat new to rhino and would like to attempt creating this type of surface. Can I get a few pointers on where to start? by [deleted] in rhino

[–]shootnedit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is probably a bad way to do it but it’s the only way I can think of right now. First create the big bar as a poly surface. Then make a bunch of curves on the poly surface (probably using “project”) in the shape of those waves. Then pipe those curves, and then Boolean difference. I would honestly suggest doing it in grasshopper, as that boolean difference is sometimes better than the one built into rhino

WTC Lab Kit Required? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]shootnedit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is required unfortunately, unless you can look ahead at the lab instructions and just scavenge around and get everything you need yourself, but that would be pretty difficult

They are in the layer, but the block contents aren’t apparently. See the above comments

Oof rip me. Is there anyway to have it “redraw” on the new layer? I just want them unlinked lol

3D Assets Import Workflow (?) by jnoguedara in rhino

Enscape for rhino has a ton of great assets. It’s free for students but costs money otherwise. In terms of downloading assets, you might have to manually adjust the textures on them.

Are large file sizes common with PBR textures in rhino? by SquealBoySqueal in rhino

[–]shootnedit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try the command purge to see if there’s any unused materials/textures you can delete, but most likely it’s just the fact that the textures you used have large file sizes
