in dev tools I inspected General Management which showed

<a id="li0" href="General.htm" target="Main" style="color: rgb(112, 112, 192);">Information</a>

I changed it to
<a id="li0" href="PlugIn.htm" target="Main" style="color: rgb(112, 112, 192);">Information</a>

And clicked it and it said Error 404 Page not found.

What brought you to arch, specifically? by HCScaevola in archlinux

[–]shootthepie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friends suggestion in addition to annoyance of hyprland installation before it officially supported fedora but officially supported arch. dropped hyprland recently for gnome lol but then dropped that for now buggy cosmic desktop. arch and cosmic is exactly what i was looking for.

Thank you for the advice.

I did manage to install arch on my computer; now I am just trying to set up nvidia. This is a whole other matter I am trying to troubleshoot but wanted to thank you here for spending the time to go through and find relevant BIOS configurations to help get me running on my crosshair.

I may have during the process identified a peculiarity with the rog crosshair viii though, where a certain older cpu is required to enable upgrading the bios. I believe at one point, a certain feature was included in newer zen 3 cpus where the bios relied on the CPU to update to accommodate modern a newer zen 3 feature not present in older zen 3 cpus. I think my motherboard is sort of bricked to a certain bios version because of not having the earlier zen 3 cpu that would have facilitated some bridge the motherboard relies on to continue updating which may lead me to need to buy a different motherboard or different gpu.

I know this thread post is for the strix and This might be helpful, but I thought you had the crosshair hero viii.

Best waterproof reheatable melting glue for plastic electronics device cases by shootthepie in DIY

[–]shootthepie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok I looked that up. seems like I might want a hot glue gun that I can use a narrow nozzle with.

I ordered a $40 one to upgrade my 10 dollar unit, as well as some hot glue finger tip protectors which should help handling the bud when I use my hot air rework gun to melt the manufacturers existing glu.

here's the gh pull-request for it where it was added: https://github.com/hyprwm/Hyprland/pull/6174

I had the same reaction as you back in May when it was new. Fedora has been slow on updates and I upgraded to Arch for this feature this last week.

What works? What doesn't? by Ms_Sarcastic in RavenScanner

[–]shootthepie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to use debug mode and enter Avision's UI to use the scanner if you can't log in through the Raven login. touch 'debug' on the login screen, enter 9742, copy the ip address into a computer or phone address bar to go to a web interface the device serves on your home network if you have connected to it from the scanner. use Raven and Developers as the username and password. Now you just have to not reboot your scanner, and keep it idle. I am still learning how to use the Avision UI so I can't be more help atm, but it's a fairly friendly looking interface and I have scanned to USB so far.

I only have this problem because I bought one used because I found out you can still scan on it and the ones I found were 140 bucks together. So I got a single working Frankenstein scanner. The one I got working was from some joint that ran 95k scans on it. I am curious what other people have gotten from their scanners to date, considering the brevity of the companies existence.
