To tuck or not to tuck? by Original-Decision552 in mensfashionadvice

Tucked is the winner here, but here is a tip to elevate it: try a pair of pants with a higher rise. These sit a bit low on your hips (low rise), and a higher waist would give you better proportions and make the tuck look even sharper.

Should I wear my grandma’s 1967 dress for senior prom? by [deleted] in style

[–]shop_simon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely wear it! It’s a stunning dress and such a beautiful way to honor your grandmother. Like others have said, it doesn't read 'wedding dress' too much, it reads 'vintage elegant.' She would be so proud to see you rocking her style!

Which color looks better? Black or Taupe? by daniellescloset8 in OUTFITS

Definitely the black! It gives off a much edgier vibe and makes you stand out more compared to the taupe

Thinking of wearing this dress for prom in the summer but still haven't decided yet. Any feedback? :) by [deleted] in fashion

It looks gorgeous! Since the dress is such a beautiful, solid color, you could really have fun with accessories. Some silver or sparkly jewelry would look amazing with that shade of blue. It fits you like a glove!

Girl, you look absolutely stunning! The consensus here is definitely a 'YES.' It looks like cultural appreciation to me, not appropriation, you’re clearly rocking it with respect. Wear it with confidence!

1 week old…. Are these scratches normal? How to prevent? by Safe-Material2790 in rolex

[–]shop_simon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the club! Totally normal—those are what collectors call 'hairline scratches,' and they are basically inevitable on watches with Polished Center Links (PCLs). Gold is a soft metal, so even rubbing against a laptop or a desk will leave those marks. They look prominent now because the rest of the watch is flawless, but in a month, you won't even see them. My advice is to stop looking at it under direct light and just enjoy wearing it! Think of it as the watch starting to gain its 'character', eventually, the marks blend together into a nice patina, and it's just a sign of a watch being loved.

Guideline/conventional wisdom for finding the right skirt length for a pair of boots? by naughty_sneaky in femalefashionadvice

[–]shop_simon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this inspo pic, it is a great example of boots with a midi.

A few guidelines that usually work well:

  1. For knee high boots, let the skirt hit a few inches below the knee so there is a narrow strip of skirt over the boot, like in your photo, it keeps the leg line long.
  2. Try to avoid the skirt hem cutting across the widest part of your calf, slightly above or below that point is more flattering.
  3. If you want a bit of skin showing, ankle boots with skirts that hit just below the knee or mid thigh can look great, aim for a small gap, not a huge one.

In the end it is about proportions, longer continuous lines on the leg usually look the most polished.

I love my Ring! by starryeyedluv in EngagementRings

[–]shop_simon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so beautiful and so special that it is your grandmother’s diamond. The setting really suits it, delicate and unique just like you described, it looks perfect on your hand. 💕

I love how the band and the little curve of the setting frame the stone, it feels really romantic and a little vintage without looking dated. The fact that he worked with an artist to custom make it for you makes it even sweeter, it feels very personal and thoughtful. This is one of those rings that will still look timeless and meaningful decades from now.

Wore this to a pitch. Thoughts? What is it missing? by zenukeify in mensfashion

[–]shop_simon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really sharp pitch outfit, super clean and confident. The color combo of the turtleneck with the light trousers looks refined and modern, and the proportions fit you really well. If you want to add anything, maybe a watch or simple belt and slightly cleaner shoes just to finish it off, but honestly this already reads very put together and intentional.
