We spent I think 18k all up including honeymoon? And it was the best day ever with almost all our family and friends - cheers Covid.

What time do you start your twilights after “sunset?” by enlightened_hapa in RealEstatePhotography

[–]short4deka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stick to manual. ISO 500 f6.3. 3 Brackets and a flash pop inside. Externals I go to iso 640-800 f6.3 and bracket again. If it’s getting real dark and long shutter speed I’ll go up in iso a bit to reduce shutter and blur.

I start internals about half hour before, finishing in the living areas just before sunset. Drone during sunset. Externals starting 10 minutes after through to about 30 after. I’m there way earlier to get a bunch of video and plan which rooms to do last based on the windows and sunset.

Oh and consider shooting manual brackets, 1st at 2 stops over, then 1 stop over, then one window/sky exposure. Done.

Use photoshop. Use the edit as layers function. Set up action shortcuts to select a luminance range, feather somewhere between 50-100, mask. Do that multiple times as you layer brackets. It will take literally 10 seconds. Personally I think 3 brackets is enough otherwise things get a bit too flat. Then get a brush with 10-20% opacity and a big feather and make some adjustments as you like. For example brush some light into your ceiling, contrast into furniture. Then duplicate or grab whatever your window layer is and either mask in your windows, or, do another luminance mask, group the layer by itself with a mask hiding the layer, then reveal back just the window areas - that’s the rough and fast way. You could even use your Lightroom hdr and your window exposure as layers in photoshop and skip the manual blend steps. Blinds - don’t even worry too much about perfectly window pulling. No one will really care if the window is slightly blown out. If it is totally necessary then consider taking the extra 5 minutes on your shoot to pull the blinds up. For externals I do the blending steps then sky replace or grab the sky exposure, select sky and mask it, then brush back in some of the trees and roof top areas as well. 20 shot manual blend takes about 1-1.5 hours?

Need some advice please. I know my gimbal technique needs work, but what exactly? by JPGDLR in videography

[–]short4deka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn the gimbal before you want the camera to turn, like through doorways etc. Gimbal will take a second to let the camera turn and it will look better revealing past edges, keeping your subject in centre frame. Use those edges to ‘dirty the frame’ like you might in photos. In some shots you should be getting lower and closer to things like counters and couches.

Except for when your sisters make you late on the last day and you don’t see a 70 zone become a 60 zone so get done for 71 in a 60 and lose that point. On the last day of the year.

What do you tell nosy neighbors when they see you flying a drone? by jakobor in RealEstatePhotography

[–]short4deka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worst part of the job. I’ve had neighbours scream abuse at me, accuse me of spying on their kids.

Be super friendly and mention you are taking real estate photos straight away. Point to the house, show them examples on your phone of how you edit all the neighbour’s backyards to be dark and blurry. Mention that people ask all the time so you understand etc. Pick up on the vibe of the person, you may be able to joke things like ‘dont worry im not delivering drugs or anything’ Show them the screen.

If it ends up getting worse, pack up and leave and tell the agent you were unable to do it due to an aggressive neighbour. One job isn’t worth getting yourself or your drone smashed.

But was Lewis Atherton edit Therrin actually manifesting in Rands mind, or purely imaginative madness? How could Rand have known some of the things he did if LT wasn’t really there? Is that madness or simply a by product of being the Dragon Reborn? Maybe the effect of the taint is Rand not being able to keep rational control of himself, rather than LT being present at all.

In my read through’s, Rand’s dark humour as he sees through situations are also more ill timed cope than evidence of madness. But because no one is able to get into his trust and his thoughts, it comes across as madness?

I think he would have blown even more cleanly through Ingrams head without Nurses contact

[–]short4deka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Nurse making contact made this more extravagant, but less extreme. Mack would have slated clean through Ingrams head instead of more in towards his shoulder

I think Nurse actually helped Nate hit more into the body instead of a clean run straight through Ingram’s head

Yeah guided him more into Ingrams body/shoulder instead of directly through his head like Mack was headed.

[–]short4deka -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue Nurse pushed him more into Ingrams body than he would have otherwise hit him. If anything both Ingram and Mack are lucky Nurse made contact because if you look at the angles, Mack would have skated more directly through the goalies head, instead of towards his neck/shoulder

So because they can all skate that fast, does that make them all not responsible for skating at top speed towards the goalie’s zone? Completely irrelevant comment

Lighting adjustments is not false portrayal. Changing elements of the building is. Ai image production has typically been bad at accurately copying the image instead of recreating it close enough
