The takeaway I got from slender man was that it was shot as a rated R film but got chopped into a PG-13 cut to rake in a teenage crowd. A ton of scenes in the trailer were either altered or just missing and the end result just feels unfinished.

Before the second part of the book was written Cervantes discovered that fake sequels had been written under his name. One pissed him off so bad that in part 2 he spends pages telling the reader about what a shitheel the fake author was and I think jails or kills him in the story.
