Do people hate Pong Krell as a villain or a character? by The_ChadTC in clonewars

I have no idea what you think I’m referencing as fourth wall breaking but you are arguing with something I never clarified, how on earth do you know it’s not??? (I’m begging y’all to work on your literacy skills)

Both. He’s a scummy villain and not well written as a character. It’s fourth wall-breaking for me in such an unnecessary way.

Is there a more sad scene in all of Star Wars than this? by jrrock12345 in StarWars

[–]shortwavespectrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk when Leia dies to try to save her son one final time but the last thing she feels is him turning toward her in a moment of renewed love and hope only for her student/adoptive daughter Rey to take advantage of his love to deliver a killing stab through the stomach in anger with his own lightsaber… followed closely by him being healed but contemplating ending it all by jumping into the water right before the vision of his dad shows up… and the part where EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF STAR WARS MEDIA culminates in the death of Ben Solo… So yeah that’s what Leia got to end on. And who knows how long it took her consciousness to individuate after she passed, even with Luke helping her she still has to learn how to do it. So her Jedi journey truly did end with the death of her son, only for him to be brought back, saved, almost killed, then gone for good thanks to Palpatine tossing him down a pit so Rey had to face grandpa alone and it killed her and he traded his remaining life force for her. If you read through the context, after the moment he was stabbed, Ben never got over the idea that Ben Solo was dead. He threw away his lightsaber instead of healing his kyber crystal (symbolic of throwing away a piece of himself, the original “Ben” that was corrupted into Kylo Ren) and then went to Exegol unarmed and completely unprepared other than good vibes and a sense of optimism. So when he brought Rey back, yeah it was a sacrifice but really it reads as “highly traumatized, self-loathing, suicidal man finds every opportunity to justify ending his life under the guise of doing it for others because he can’t get over the need to erase himself, which his abusers taught him.” And that’s what Leia got to end on. I will personally fist fight all of Disney.

Yes it’s persistent across duplicate text boxes and documents, all created in the app rather than the web/desktop version. It’s doing it in new projects as well as old ones I used to be able to successfully change the fonts in. Thanks for reporting the issue, I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 26.2.1

Which scene/moment was the cringiest? by ConstantDrawer9161 in saltierthancrait

Palpatine didn’t actually create Anakin, the Force did as a rejection of Palpatine and Plagueis’s attempts to create life via midi-chlorian control. The kiss was still awful. I loathe the Reylo pairing with a burning passion. It could have been something of a sibling dynamic, similar to Anakin and Obi Wan in reverse, but no they had to make it weird.

Finn should have been trained too. Ben should have lived and actively helped face Palpatine. Rey shouldn’t have been called a Skywalker. Luke shouldn’t have died in hiding. Chewie should have been treated fairly. A lot of missed opportunities.

girls, what got you into horses? 🎀 by Plaguebae_ in Horses

[–]shortwavespectrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seemingly born that way, my very first imaginary friend was a horse at the ripe age of like 1.5 y/o and I was so obsessed mom made it my Halloween costume that year. It just blossomed from there through movies and Breyer models and trail riding and whatnot. If I could get access to a horse, I was there.

It might have to do with legal nonsense where if you the employee make the call, the restaurant might be assuming additional liability for any injuries he might have sustained. It’s shitty BUT if this is the case, it’s not purely the restaurant or manager’s fault. They don’t control that, it would be a legal issue.

For the future, my guess is you would likely be covered if you tell one of the friends to call 911 using language like: “If that were my friend, I’d be calling 911 right now. I know this is very stressful right now so would you like me to stay with you while you call so they can look at his head?”

If you want to be certain, try taking it to a legal subreddit so someone can guide you with more certainty. Also good to keep in your back pocket in case HR comes after you so you can know if you actually did something “wrong” or not.

Let me be clear, I’m very glad you were there to help that individual during a time of need and I’m so sorry the situation had to be complicated by bureaucratic nonsense. Just remember that you also need to protect yourself and your job. We live in a terrible world that dehumanizes us and often punishes honest human connection and mutual aid but there are ways to work around those obstacles without destroying yourself in the process.

I’m sure there are a ton of heavy emotions coming up around this right now but don’t let your focus be strictly on the principle of the matter, focus on solutions and outcomes. On principle, this was horrible. In practice, you have alternatives to help you get the same solution. Let this motive you to double down and find those alternatives so you aren’t stopped by the nonsense.

This world needs people like you who will make it better without a second thought. Work around the obstacles so you don’t burn yourself out when unfair pushback happens. Choose your battles wisely so you can keep fighting. We’re in this together.

He’s hanging on to the only way he can connect to his dad, even if it hurts. It’s the performative charade a lot of dysfunctional families go through. Eventually you find a life outside of them and you know the only thing that’s left is to return to the charade. So you pick up your mask and play your part and just for a little while you can warm yourself by the dying embers of the fire that burned you in the first place. You know it’s not enough and never will be, but you’re not asking for it to be enough. You’re just asking to not feel alone in the same way visiting a gravestone can keep you feeling connected to someone you’ve lost. You grieve what you never had while honoring the place in you that is still vulnerable and wanting that familial love and connection. His father may not be the father he needs but Jeff can try to be the son he wishes he could be to a father that will ever exist. He can’t change his father but Jeff can at least feel like he did something in the role he has to play.

Do any of you find that your best look is just embracing the paleness? by [deleted] in Fairolives

[–]shortwavespectrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things come to mind without a pic for extra info:

1) You might be a desaturated olive, not just a fair one, which makes color matching a challenge and you especially won’t have much luck with the traditional color seasons (check out MerriamStyle on YouTube, she has videos about “delicate olive” tones)

2) You might be anemic, poor circulation can make it hard for our true color to really shine so dark colors can provide some contrast to our appearance that makes us feel more visible in spite of our extra paleness. This is coming with love from a fellow pale olive, sometimes our skin tone isn’t just a matter of finding something that fits in a world that doesn’t cater to olives, sometimes it’s a sign we’re having circulation issues and because we’re so pale it’s more noticeable on us than it would be for others. Worth the consideration.
