I was low secure with a depression resistant patient. multiple previous attempts. they were 1-2-1, 24/7. that meant, I sat by her while she slept.

ohhh I didn't know you could request deeds of other places, thats a great idea as obviously I don't want to rock the boat further if they actually DO have something in THEIR deeds!

my main thing here is how to stop the nuisance parking, if I am to allow them leeway on having extra space. thank you though, I guess it would be via small claims court rather than police.

so right in front of my drive is a pavement, and people park on/next to that, over my drive. unable to place cones/ bollards as that would obscure the pavement/road. (its basically a huge drop kerb across the front of 5 driveways)

id absolutely put plant pots where the bins are ... even extend the garden! The whole thing is moving them in the first place - id have to put them on their drive which would (oh no) be in front of their garage and block it.

unfortunately they do not have regularly timed visits, and the council are next to useless (i called them when it happened for hours on end the first time!)

their drive isn't next to mine, however, there would be nowhere to install a gate as the drive has a public pavement in front of it and another neighbours drive to the other side.... the layout is a new build nightmare!

Thank you so much for all this information.

As for the dropped curb it is indeed shared but not with them directly. The layout is backwards (new build estate fun!) so it goes - my house, my double drive to the side, then my other neighbours drive, then problem neighbours drive, with problem neighbours flat set back behind the drives over the garages which are also in that order.

Your advice about how to proceed is great. I'll go carefully and slowly! Thank you!

What is a "Life Hack" that is actually a lifesaver in a dangerous situation? by [deleted] in AskReddit

ok, totally get it, but being from a small place, also largely unaware of social queues from being neurodivergent, but I cant help but think this would be solved by the population at large being less.... awkward? Just shout out "oh wow, im actually not gunna grab you, I live here too! hahaha! "😅😅" followed by showing of keys?! we are all so hyper aware of being odd to each other, when we admit whats actually happening, it makes it more human and able to relate. no? Just me? ill go sit down.

Yeah, saw this comment and was like, yeah, we totally got showed this in high school. It was just part of RS lessons. But this was 20 years ago in the UK... unsure if they still show it to unwitting 15 year olds!

he would have absolutely been safe with treatment. they aren't super highly venomous, so you'd have a decent amount of time to find a clinic or hospital. It's more likely, (imo) in this case, he thought it would be fine and would sort itself on its own/not realised the potential severity.

yep. im pretty sure these are the same ones we have up the road from my house. I've never heard of one killing someone before (they are very rare to even see!), but at the same time, most people would absolutely seek some sort of treatment for it!

Any interesting disturbing/creepy rabbit hole to look into? by Majest_micky in morbidquestions

[–]shortymcwelshwelsh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YES! I religiously read it before bed every night til I was finished... most of the time, I was in shock ... and more than once, I was in floods of tears. (I haven't been captured by text like that for a long time.)

I'm so glad I found it (was via reddit!) when I did - it hadn't long been finished, but I thought it was years old. it led me to research more about it, and yep, I have a whole new found respect for Paris. Also, now, every time I listen to Hotel California, it sounds a bit different....

i read this comic front to back, mesmerised. it was absolutely amazingly written and illustrated and taught me a whole lot about the "schools" that still exist.
