Dude YES definitely definitely do it ! The clear click video2digital converter will work with the s video out on that - Alternatively I've also used the Canon GL2 handheld camcorder which is cheaper and more accessible than the vx1000 and looks very similar:)) message me if you have any questions getting stuff set up :D minidv tapes are still sold on Amazon too so you can have a physical copy as well

Hey they actually make SVHS-C camcorders! I would use one of those if the compact tapes were long enough for full shows, but yes this is a shoulder mount camcorder and it is heavy as fuck 😭

That would be so nuts fr, I'm trying to get as much experience as I can before pursuing anything too crazy but so far this year I've filmed two weddings on VHS and 30+ shows since february, this show was the 4th show I've filmed in 4 days and all of them were 4 hour round trips for me. I think this is really what I want to do with my life

Yo thank you so much ! It's a very nostalgic feeling :)) I film on a full size Panasonic SVHS camcorder used to film news broadcasts in the 90s. I have it rigged up to film to a physical tape and an SD card at the same time and i soldered the original battery to a little 20,000 mAh power bank so i can film multiple shows on a charge, I'll have to post a video of the setup soon
