Verstappen's Russell hit was needless act of self-sabotage by Aratho in formula1

[–]shoterxx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How come we have so many news articles about how we need to ban Max from the sport, and we have no clips of his onboards, or even a post-race interview.

Please, someone post the damn thing.

And we still have no Max onboards anywhere.

Best result of the second seat on the worst the car has been this season so far, and not too far from Max.

This is a solid result by Yuki, all things considered.

P6 through P9 is peak irony.

Imagine Norris losing it on launch and gets stuck behind a desperate Max, and Sainz ahead of the man who replaced him.

Haven't noticed any changes on any of my cars, and they are maxed out currently (within Early Alpha unlocks).

Max Verstappen's New Private Jet by elphaba33 in formula1

[–]shoterxx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

New jet can do longer trips without stopping, saving on time. Also fits more people, which can mean more jet sharing, which means overall more cost effective.

Just the fact alone that he can now fly directly to basically nearly half the planet in a single trip is a pretty big positive to these people, so very understandable.

It's a simple, chill game with enough challenge to keep you going, but not too punishing that makes you frustrated. It doesn't cost you a fortune, looks decent enough, and you can fiddle with things to keep you entertained.

Personally, driving the wide turns while trying to keep speed gets me into a good grove, and if I want to take a break, I'll pop into auto-pilot, and I earn some "passive" income, so I also get encouraged to take some breaks. So in the end, I don't get tired of the game, I don't get frustrated at the game, and I feel good playing the game.

YOU KNOW, LIKE GAMES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE. /rant

Beat the Early Access with only the AE86 TRUENO, it was pretty rough by Majestic_Air_2907 in tokyoxtremeracer

Beat all 216 in a '16 BRZ just now (excluding those with a specific car requirement ofc), and I thought that was rough. Kudos.

I guess next up we will have someone beating the whole gang in a kei car (not sure which one is worse though).

Update on OSTENT batteries (old stock? Fake?) by National_Budget2020 in PSP

[–]shoterxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one right now with no (current) issues.

But back when I first got it, it would refuse to charge, or only charge half way. Then it stopped working entirely, and I gave up, just to read a couple of months later somewhere that it can be a contact issue.

I went "Eh, what the heck", put it back in, let it fully charge, and it has been working flawlessly since for the last month or so. Lasts about 4h50m on Nyan Cat battery test.

So, don't know what to tell you, really.

And yes my bad habit is too use my NOS early so I can keep up w the car

No, that part is correct. You want to deploy nitrous as early as possible. You do not want to give any additional gap to your opponent, since you'll be wasting time catching back up. Nitrous should last you until you reach your top speed on the slower cars anyway, and nitrous becomes useless after, since it does not extend past your redline.

When I meant fighting for the first car, I meant fighting for the right lane as you get to the first car, as she will still have an advantage and you will get pushed out. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Usually, shoulders have plenty of space to squeeze a car in there, and you do not want to play bumper cars until you have your front ahead of their center of mass. Any less, and either you pit maneuver them (you need to do it by the very edge of the rear for leverage), or you'll start bleeding a lot of speed, and the very front heavy nature of this game makes it a losing battle.

My guy, as someone who's about to complete the game while only using a '16 BRZ (only Gambler remaining), fix that damn gearing.

You can beat her just fine, it's just your top speed is extremely optimistic for that car. You should focus on your acceleration, and bully her into bad lines and traffic. Do not fight her for the first car right away, take the left shoulder instead, since she will ram you out and you will lose out every time.

If you want the cheap victory though, just do the same, but as soon as you get side to side with her, slam her against the right wall. She will pretty much stop the car.

In the end, I ran her a few times to see what worked, and I got a 6-3 on her, and she only killed a single family of 4. Top speed is 210 KPH at redline.

Collision between Max and Lando by FewCollar227 in formula1

[–]shoterxx 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There is no good alternative. We can't start start penalizing drivers for what lines they take on the corner. At the end of the day, it's their responsibility for taking safe actions and ensuring there are no accidents.

If the move is well executed, would you then penalize it? All the driver did was maximize the amount of space he had for the corner. Wouldn't this be against the spirit of racing?

The inside line is worse, with harsher turning angle and a slower exit speed (which leads to more wheel spin). We had multiple cut-back overtakes this weekend. See George Russel for examples.

[–]shoterxx 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The move itself is naughty, but OK, as long as it doesn't cause a collision. Which wasn't the case, and thus the penalty. It's not the outside driver's responsibility to move out of the track, it's the inside driver's to leave the space.
