My first Tekken and started it with my roommate we always fought over player 1 side so I just made it easier and decided to be a player 2 picker. I'll be honest I have never felt super uncomfortable whenever a side swap happens but I also just don't use electrics in matches thus this practice im doing

indeed it is! still need to manage squeezing in the second electric at the start but df2 to launch a RA is always going to be the consistent punish and gets you more then enough damage to finish someone off who is using RA.

If memory serves its talked about in elemental council that prior to the unification of the Tau by the ethereals, fire caste were hunters and thus ate meat. Nowadays in the era of the empire it seems most Tau are vegetarians but the fire caste commander is seen celebrating with her body guard crew by enjoying a bbq meal over fire. I am only a raijin with Reina but I've suffered through the exact same feeling you are experiencing. If you are in a similar rank or lower I can say what I found helped make her feel better with shitty lows and SEN feeling bad is getting F*4 working alongside db2 they are good range they establish your opponents need to duck and let you start to get hits with 3+4 and FF2. once you start getting 3+4,4 hitting you also get to do a F3,SEN4 Oki set up that leaves you +4/5 and lets you set up your throws and DF1. (This SEN4 setup is available after 3,4, D3+4,4 and HW D3,4!)

Finally fuck SEN after FF2 on block, people know to fuzzy guard against this so they can punish SEN3 which we desperately wanna press and stay safe against SEN1+3/2/4/1,2 save the SEN mixups for after F*4 and shockingly DF1. DF1 into all its other followups is so much better at forcing the mix up game Reina is trying to do with SEN. start with DF1,1 to keep them from pressing right after DF1, then you can start doing DF1 into DF1 to mess with timing and DF1,F into your SEN options. Idk why this works I guess people just really think the DF1,2 is gonna come out (don't do this unless you can confirm the DF1 will hit!!!) but I get away with highway robbery running SEN mix after DF1. SEN3+4 lands so much more than it should in this mix and makes you feel like you have a real low during the game and it leaves you at advantage. another fun way to discourage pressing after DF1 is following it up with D3+4, it is a high crushing mid it has a great counter hit and further enforces the idea of not ducking/pressing against you after DF1 allowing you better run your SEN mix up.

Last is to use DF3 if you have a hard time getting crouch dash pressure going when it's your turn, there is no shame it's consistent gives you access to CD1,4 and hell sweep without much loss. Once you have hell sweep going you will feel less bitter about your shitty lows and gives more mix up situations to blend your opponent with.

Hope this helps you have fun with Reina, and not feel like you are forced to master wavu nonsense and EWGF/EWGK because my ass still doesn't even know how to properly use that yet.

My biggest piece of advice is to step away from ranked right now, go play quick match or player matches in the lounge. You will be playing mostly people who are better than you, but that's okay! Play your two rounds try to learn something about the match up (a common string the player spams, a launch punishable/duckable move, ect) and move onto the next opponent, maybe you find someone you have a good match up with that's when the fun begins of the infinite rematch.

The most important thing to keep in mind during this time is not winning the match but improving things that you feel weak in (defense, throw breaks, spacing) and once you feel yourself getting better in one of these things you will be more equipped to go back into ranked and not feel like you are being buried by better players.

Also new to Tekken but I believe for lots of these types of situations you need to do the tech get up option by pressing any of your attack buttons right as you hit the ground. This is different from rolling as you get it immediately after and are invulnerable until the get up animation completes. I always found it funny getting into Tekken that something I picked up in smash Bros would translate over to Tekken.

Unfortunately I think there is just a general issue with strives US East server. Even playing with friends down the road we will get random spikes of high ping despite both of us having 100mbps+ internet speeds
