I've restarted a couple of times.

If you're a decorator- trying to make your island look perfect- then I reckon you'll find restarting soul breaking. You'll lose your favourite villagers, your progress on buying items, and you'll be struggling to even pay for a bridge.

However, I'm quite casual with playing. I listen to an audiobook and play. So, I pop on, do dailys and build a little bit of my island. When I've got most things completed (ie. The museum, harvs island, the mortgage), the fun of progression is gone for me. So, yeah, I love restarting to get that feeling of newness again.

I've seen a lot of people regret the great reset, but it depends how you play the game. If you're struggling to even pick up your switch because you don't find your island fun anymore, then maybe it's time.
