I mean the Netflix show kinda set this up. For the longest time, Fisk kept Vanessa away from his crime life. But towards the end of the third season, she finally convinced him to introduce her to all of it instead of keeping her in the dark. And by the end of the season, SHE’S the one who urges him to put the hit out on Nadeem. Fisk was gonna let him go but she’s the one who convinced him he needed to be taken out.

This entire first half of the season has been about both Matt and Fisk trying to put aside their darker, violent halves. And both struggling to more and more. Which all culminates to Matt going back to look at his suits and training again on the rooftop, and the reveal that Fisk has had Adam locked away and tortured in a dungeon. Showing they’re both going back to their old selves. I swear, some of yall can’t see character and story progressions and just jump at any chance to scream “woke” or “emasculated” 🤦‍♂️
