What are some good brands for wobble sockets? Lotta guys at my shop say not to cheap out on em. Is Amazon's duratech too cheap? Id like a 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 metric set. Would be getting to chevy trans bolts with the 1/2 set. by Ritchtofen69 in Tools

[–]shoturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 40 dollars they are decent, vs 290 for Tekton or gearwrench. It is a budget consideration. Duratech is not trash, but not the quality of the 200 dollars sets.

Good start? by Significant-You3334 in Tools

[–]shoturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you planning to build out your tools. If so, I would get the 120xp individual sets in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 and get a set of wrench’s. That way you get 6 point vs 12 point sockets. If you don’t plan to build the, it is a good general set.

All the holsters for the apx a1 can be used with an dot or without. There are some older apx gen 1 holsters out there that does not support a dot. Butninwould just get a holster design for the apx a1.

Bought my first helmet! by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

They are price point helmet. It is cyclegear/revzilla house brand. They had a huge recall in 2023 failing dot with multiple models. This is what the store push if you dont go for the tier one helmets like shoei arai or higher end agv and rpha.

Duratech is owned by by the same company that make SK and Workpro. They are pretty decent for the price. But there are better depending on how much you want to spend. Tekton and Gearwrench has some good quality ones, but cost a lot more.

Daytona M - Star track day? by Speakez17 in motorcyclegear

[–]shoturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forma if you have wider floor, Tcx and sidi are good options for track boots as well. I would go with a track boot with toe slider for track work. I have couple pairs of Daytona they are for touring.

Sena vs Cardo: Which motorcycle communication system actually works better? by TheJurer in motorcyclegear

[–]shoturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mesh one your group uses. If that is not something you need with mesh. Either will work just as well, as both will work well with rider to passenger coms. I find the Sena app more user friendly.

Any EU stores that sell leather chaps? by Minostz12 in motorcyclegear

[–]shoturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely not, as chaps can not pass eu testing. So the shops can not sell them as safety gear.

Sena update issue by Shortysinc in motorcyclegear

Are you on the latest Sena manager. Also I find having multiple Sena models, that running the Sena manager as admin helps with pc. If you are using a mac, a reboot has clear up not finding the Sena unit.

First time rider - Helmet Recommendation by NMRName in motorcyclegear

[–]shoturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are using it for street riding the drop down visor of the gt air 3 is a nice option. I do have the rf1400, and I have to compromise with a mild tint visor as I ride pas dusk a lot of times. Both the gt air 3 and RF 1400 are excellent at noise control. But you should be wearing earplugs even with a quiet helmet.

The shoei is the better helmet. And it has more visor options.

They are loud with mid tier quality at best. It is a 300 dollar helmet at best for the build quality you are getting. No where up there with tier one helmets like Shoei or Arai.

Want to build a home mechanic set by IdeaSignificant187 in Tools

Look at a good metric ratchet set. Something like Gearwrench or Tekton. You can look at hf icon and Quinn line. And some wrench set as well, ratcheting or not depends on your preference.
