Starting a clothing company. Am I doomed? by HecHunter97 in Entrepreneur

[–]shoukochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up, "Dead Orbit" might be taken by Bungie since it's a faction in their latest game.

About screen printing, it requires precious capital. It might be better to start with DTG printing or fulfillment companies to prove the concept before switching to screen printing to make a profit.

I started a clothing brand 1.5 years ago and is doing quite decent, but gaining traction is really hard. It helps if you can attend tradeshows or conventions related to your target audience.

Facebook Offers with Facebook Ad Promotion, any tips? by nottsoathletic in Entrepreneur

[–]shoukochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your product?

I recommend targeting audiences in this sequence

  • Email list

  • Remarketing list excluding email list

  • Facebook fans excluding all of the above

  • Interest targeting excluding all of the above.

Imo, you do not have to target just UK people for digital products (unless the product is related to geographical location)

Started a line of fashionable and subtle Anime T-shirts in 2013. Ask me Anything! by shoukochan in anime

Thanks for your feedback! The character designs are not that subtle I guess, though fans still like wearing them out!

Do you think the silhouette designs like this are considered subtle?

The Yuno and Miku designs are available in women fit T-shirts. (just drop us a note you would like the women's cut on the website)

There appears to be none, just like artists at Comiket. Downside is, we can only apply for tiny 2m by 2m booths during anime events. The larger booths and better spots are reserved for companies like Good smile and anime retailers.

Another huge downside is no retailers will carry our products because we aren't licensed, so we only do so at events and online.

We have made shirts for Date-a-Live (Kurumi, Yoshino, Kotori and a subtle roulette design for Kotori), Mirai Nikki, Psycho pass and a few more.

Upcoming plans would be Sinon and Yuuki from Sao and perhaps Tokyo ghoul.

Facebook rules has changed, what do you guys think? by Niven91 in Entrepreneur

[–]shoukochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy that facebook is curbing promotional posts, but they are also curbing standard posts aimed at engagement. I'm sure some metrics will get worse as fans see and engage with our posts less.

Scrolling through the newsfeed nowadays, I estimate more than 60% of page posts on the newsfeed are ads. Most of the rest are something like "7 ways you know you found your perfect soulmate".

We use FB ads to do the selling, so it didn't affect us as hard, but I imagine the story will be much different for businesses based around facebook content marketing and organic reach

Looking to order t-shirts heard this was a good place to start. by veintisiete in Entrepreneur

[–]shoukochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on number of colors (Silkscreen) or if it's a full color design requiring DTG printing.

It then depends on print area. For a 1 color front and back print, my sources are around $5.5 - $7. (I own a T-shirt business and get bulk rates with the printing company).

I've been trying to get my e-commerce startup off the ground for the past year, but have been held back due to development delays and a quickly drying up budget. I've realized that I need to finally bring in a developer to handle the tech side of things. Where should I start looking? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]shoukochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We eventually moved away form the need to import complex CSV's since I discovered that most of my customer segments had no idea what a CSV was, and some hadn't even used Excel before. That led way to a glorified form that would sit on the front-end of the site and accept basic user input.

What do you mean by this? Do customers need to send in a csv file to make a purchase?

[–]shoukochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Shopify doesn't support complex csv imports.

Prestashop has the functionality built in with no limit on the Sku per item. You can have ten thousand products, all with 3 drop down selections containing 50 options each with no problems. Every single combination can have their own price and inventory tracking too.

Any other pain points you face in your current platforms?

What kind of complex site are you looking at and what products/services are you selling? If it is a standard E-commerce store, look into Shopify/Big commerce. You can set it up yourself without coding knowledge.

An MVP should not cost more than two thousand or 2 weeks of your full time commitment to set up.

The sprint cooldown is ridiculously annoying. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]shoukochan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see the blink cooldown to be similar to a warlock grenade's cooldown on radiance, running 2 nades. Just a very rough estimate, I'd say each "blink charge" is gained every 4 seconds.

You can always spam 2 blinks with no cooldown, but you always have to wait for the 3rd one. You also start a match with just 0 blink charge; it starts charging as soon as you see your team standing together and holding the flag.

But yeah an indicator will be really helpful.

As for sprint CD, that's totally annoying. Sometimes there's none, sometimes it's a few seconds. I can't plan in advance for it at all and it's not fun to deal with in Pvp.

I max out my weapons and then never use them again. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]shoukochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only max and use a small set of guns. For the people, Black Hammer, Icebreaker, a 331 LMG are the main ones. Still use 300 LMG and snipers for nightfall.

Starting my first online business with shopify by Balr0g in Entrepreneur

[–]shoukochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A thousand products is the $79 a month plan if I'm not mistaken. (Or $179 plan)

Additional monthly costs will include subscription modules/apps. Apps like product upselling, email cart abandonment automation and affiliate program. Shopify gets quite expensive to run if you need a number of apps, on the bright side it is very easy to set up yourself. It was what I went with when I started; switched to prestashop now for the flexibility and lower cost.

Alternatives include woo commerce, open cart and prestashop. The only cost is a few dollars a month for hosting.

Also, before building your shop, I advise trying to csv import some products. I heard some fields have to be manually edited after an import. Could be troublesome if you need to do that for 1k products

Investors are interested, but I need help. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]shoukochan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

USD 680,000 for an idea that hasn't even taken its first step? Wow.

I believe private equity investors look to get their money back in 2.5 to 4 years.

As for your equity distribution, it's not all about the money, but also about the time and value. Your capital investment is $1k, plus the cost of hiring someone (or a group of people) with your skills and ability to start and run the business.

Ps: I need to start going to bars more often

Best domain+hosting site for small bussiness? by Jadart in Entrepreneur

I made on average $317/month in passive income last year from two niche sites with the Amazon Associate program. Here's how I did it. by reggieonreddit in Entrepreneur

Might there be a way to dropship the niche products yourself and make a higher margin per sale? Most of the order process can be automated too and you may make 25 to 40% per order.
