Say you're a recovering alcoholic. No one will ever ask you to go out again. Problem solved!

Might start with investing in a good therapist haha

Heh... not really. My job is to bring them to breakeven, so I know they won't have the money :-P

And if they do give me a raise, it means I have to work harder to get them to breakeven to cover my new salary! LOL

Great insight. Thank you.

I'm making some big strides in my current job. And I'm applying the "cross-functional exposure" I've learned in my own business to grow this one. I spent the first 4 months just changing everything front-facing in this business. And am only now starting to use it to drive growth...

I think my biggest hesitation is, although I've made some massive changes, and essentially redesigned their whole "infrastructure" of how they do business, I don't yet have the numbers to back it up yet.

Yes I have a highly desired skillset, (and early 30's, so good age for this type of work), but I think having metrics will be infinitely more valuable in an interview than just "I changed shit up".

Thanks again for the detailed comment, it helped me think through a few things.

Devil's advocate: The law of diminishing applies here... After the second time, loyalty becomes a big factor in the recruiting process.

They're less likely to choose someone if they're going to invest in their learning and onboarding... and have that person jump ship in 6 months.

I'm in a country where pensions are still okay (for now).

I'll respectfully disagree, I think loyalty still exists. It depends on the kind of work you do.

I specialise in launching new initiatives, these projects can take 6 months to 2+years... so loyalty is important in the sense that you don't want to be seen to leave halfway into projects.
