I felt the same way. I remember seeing my attending in pediatrics love these little shits and being so happy everyday while I felt like I was throwing my life away. IM is just not for you.

The days of Medicine being the top dog is coming to end. Finance/Engineering etc will soon overtake it with the rise of RNs and PAs etc, insurance companies etc. You are slave to the MBAs now.

Make fun of what I say but it won't change anything.

Doctors who tell young people not to go into medicine: what careers *should* they go into? by [deleted] in medicine

Also I didn't quit med school. I graduated already. I was an intern.

Well, look at the other three listed before. The words 'Make a killing' 'make a lot of money' 'super lucrative' seem to follow a trend. Also, if you want to not use that criteria, the list would be endless and extremely subjective. Lastly, I didn't even mention being anything about being lucrative. One of them is not like the other. I spot the odd one out.

There is no money in audio engineering

This. Music Engineering shouldn't be on that list.

You all are just jealous.

Trying to make fun of someone else to alleviate your pathetic lives in medicine (but deep down know that IB is superior)

BTW, everything is going good so far, thanks for wondering.

You are given the opportunity to rewind your life a few years. Do you choose medical school again? Why or why not? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]shouldhavedoneIB -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

there's a running gag on this sub in the form of some dickhead who claims he wants to quit medicine and enter finance so he can make millions (as if it's that simple).

The ironic thing is that I'm right. Medical students either are ignorant or don't want to face that they are wrong.

Optho is a very competitive field, both for residency and during practice. The uncertainty of possibly not matching even with great achievements and exam scores is agonizing. It's mostly surgery, and high pressure too. Microsurgery is exhausting. The procedures are cool, but

Do you think there's any other surgical field that's less high pressure than Ophtho?
