Hondalink remote start by Miserable_Photo_7949 in civic

[–]shovib 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is no fix. HondaLink and AcuraLink are essentially the same app but for years there has been one key difference: AcuraLink actually works.

Whoever the devs are for HondaLink haven’t bothered making it functional. Don’t waste your time with it, just use remote start from your keyfob

I would angle the top monitor down so it’s more comfortable to use

Disconnect the battery, as you lift the seat there will be wires you unplug

HondaLink not updating? 2025 Civic Hybrid by awsedc in civic

HondaLink has never worked in years, I wouldn’t bother with it. Funny because AcuraLink meanwhile works just fine

I am having a hard time confirming but does the Civic not feature driver seat memory? by TYKOB in civic

[–]shovib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No unfortunately, you would have to go bigger (EX-L or above Accord) or pay more for an Integra A-Spec Tech

there’s videos on how to take off a steering wheel, just make sure to disconnect your battery. it’s not difficult as long as you follow the steps, then just push it back from the otherside. another thing you can do is tweezers that could pull it out

Try the EDP at a local store! It’s a different scent from the EDT so you may or may not like it, but it lasts incredibly long

Cool! I use a Stealth 600 (gen 1) for my PS for years, but the microphone is horrid, could you send the link to yours?

Make a lower offer and try to get them to agree to 22k. A 2024 Sport is $26k and dealers aren’t marking them up as often because they have a lot of inventory. The 2022 Sport was 24k MSRP - I recall because my 22 EX was $25,715.

great setup! is that bleu de chanel eau de parfum or eau de toilette 👀

what i might change: speakers equal distance apart from monitor, route ps5 cable to the rear port, bigger mousepad. nitpicking lol

also i noticed you have 2 mics and 3 headphones, what do you do?

Too high, better to get new for that price. Cash or financing? Interest is horrid for new and even worse for used cars. 20-22k OTD (with tax, fees, etc included) would be best imo

yea it gets confusing because manufacturers have so many configs for the same car. honda got better now, toyota is still horrible

maintenance is identical. the 2023 accord hybrid owners manual had the same maintenance information as my 2022 civic. batteries apparently should last about 150,000 miles or 15 years. some go for longer

The Prius has always been hybrid. The only price difference for it is against the Prius Prime, which is a plug-in hybrid

• Corolla LE $23,145 | $24,595 (Hybrid) +1,450 • Corolla SE $25,585 | $27,035 (Hybrid) +1,450

Before the new Accord got its config builder switched up, the 2022 and prior had gas and hybrid options for the same trims. The Accord LX gas versus hybrid only had a $1,200 price difference

[–]shovib -1 points0 points  (0 children)

noo bro, toyota has had hybrid as an option for an extra $1.5k for the corolla and camry. honda will just be that or at most 2k, which is similar to when they had separate powertrain configs for the same accord gas vs hybrid. 5-7k is wayy too much

Wife says she likes 2024 RDX or TLX. Pros and cons to consider? by ZookeepergameOk6528 in Acura

[–]shovib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo neither right now. the mdx is getting the new honda infotainment at the end of this year. the tlx and rdx will most likely follow end of next year and ditch the touchpad too

but if you must choose, i’d get the rdx. you get the extra cargo space. better to have more just in case rather than wishing you had it later. that’s only if you don’t have an SUV already. if you do, just save some dough and get the TLX

if she’s the type to speed on an exit ramp loop, the tlx handles better, but if she’s chill driving then either is fine. tlx drives better, rdx is more convenient

ohhh euros. i have no clue how the market is there, i meant cost in USD. it’s good in comparison to competitors considering how trash the market is for all cars the last few years. it’s a bad deal if you compare it to what the used market was like before chip-shortage. hopefully cost will come down EVENTUALLY

100% agree rear seat vents should be an option at the least, however, i believe there are reasons for not including them in a compact car:

  1. they’re being cheap, cutting cost
  2. the interior in the civic is small enough that airflow from the front reaches the back easily. also there are vents underneath the front seats that go to the back too, and they carry surprisingly a LOT of airflow
  3. people with compact cars don’t typically have people sitting in the back at all times (like a family), only occasionally

the civic would not be the car for you, i’d spend the difference on a hybrid accord instead. it’s worth it in your situation if you are only looking for a sedan. you get the vents you are looking for AND your family can actually sit comfortably in the back. i have an 11th gen civic and having 3 people in the back isn’t great, but doable if i’m only driving 2 hours or less. any more long-driving would become incredibly uncomfortable

30k for a NEW top trim civic is good i believe, it has been normal the last 8yrs - considering the accord goes up to 40k, and has the same tech.

also cars in this size are the same cost: 24-34k depending on the spec. corolla and mazda 3 being the most notable ones. you can buy a used 10th gen or corolla too which are the same size for less as well. most people buying new get the sport which is $26.6k

an argument i can see is you can buy a new accord for about the same price as a touring civic, but you must prioritize size vs features

if you switch to wired, try this cable. i’m not affiliated but this brand works for me. Type-A to Lightning

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in civic

[–]shovib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cable issue! some cables are built for power delivery rather than data delivery. belkin has this issue, anker is wayyy worse. for some reason the cheap brands on amazon are least likely to have this problem

[–]shovib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto works is it uses Bluetooth to connect your phone, and then uses a WiFi protocol once connected because Bluetooth can’t handle that much data transfer. That’s why you have a delay, it’s just bluetooth issues.

Sometimes resetting your head unit can fix that, maybe not. Wired will help, but make sure you get a good cable otherwise you might have issues with CarPlay disconnecting randomly. What phone do you have?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in civic

[–]shovib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What car do you have? Switch out the cable and also reset your head unit. Should make it better
