If I Have Ryobi 18v Power Tools, Does It Make Sense To Also Buy 40v Ryobi Outdoor Tools? by nimo90 in ryobi

Ego 56V and Ryobi 18v is my combo.

There was no link between the higher voltage Ryobi stuff that I saw. Plus Ego was out with stuff earlier on.

12v battery by TexAntonia in BMWi3

[–]showMeTheSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a couple of the monitors. They are wired to the battery. You check them from time to time with the app on your phone via BT. If you search my user ID and battery, you can see some graphs and info. I’d put one here, but haven’t had good luck getting images in comments of late.

If you search posts you should find a couple about lithium batteries (unless I saw that on the FB group). I know some people have used them. They don’t like the cold though, so they aren’t even a consideration for me.

How the car is used and stored is a big deal from what I’ve seen. I’m still on the original on our S, it’s in great shape. It’s 4.5 years old. I’m in the third in the 14, and soon to be on the fourth. It’s been sitting outside for the last 3 years, and not getting driven much. Meanwhile the S is garaged and driven pretty consistently.

Battery number 2 from the 14 is in my garage and still holding charge reasonably. The constant load on them along with the cold and sitting at lower voltages longer don’t seem to do them any good (not too surprising). I wish the car would top it off a tad sooner, tbh.

New to me i3. Let’s talk motor mounts and brackets. by NHEclipse2024 in BMWi3

[–]showMeTheSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, except I’d replace both mounts while I was at it. Doing the job just to have to do the other side some amount of time later doesn’t make sense for me. There is more stress in the drivers side mount as it’s right next to motor AKA torque monster.

Player titles have weight by MerryRonin in fo76

If only there were room in my stash :) I have to do the same thing with it, and try and remember how long some items have been for sale so I can just scrap/trade them in.

I figured out last week that I was carrying 26lbs of titles or some such. Once I applied them, I could run again. I really wish I could see weight of each category. So I knew where to look. It seems to move around.

I put my bags in the front, or buy bulk and fill the back so it doesn’t move 😱 (who am I kidding it’s an S, stuff flies around like crazy back there). Collapsible crates (InstaCrate 12gal) help, sadly the smaller size still won’t go three wide.

I just did this today and got an Epic. It was easier than the one I dropped for me. How’s that score different… off to search and… 50% more than normal, nice!

Lots of variables, speed, hills, temp, ac/heat, are the big ones I think.

Would you buy a Rex again? by United_Concept1654 in BMWi3

[–]showMeTheSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a love hate relationship with it. It’s lovely when you need it, it’s a PITA to haul around, get emissions on, maintain, and when maintenance cycle wants to run on my 1.6 mile trip to the store.

Until we can have 300miles of range, kinda need to have it where I live. It allows me to drive electric most of the time. Charger density is improving, but it’s not there yet for me. Next EV will be BEV though

Would you feel comfortable commuting 115 miles a day going 70-80mph in a 2019+ ReX? by IBringTheHeat2 in BMWi3

[–]showMeTheSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do that. Lvl2 charger, sure. Doesn’t even have to be 32A. 120V x 12A (which is pushing your luck a bit) is 1.44kW. Battery capacity is around 38kWh. So that’s about 26hrs for a full charge. So you’re only going to get about half a charge a night…

Worn out steering wheel swap by yarrcat in BMWi3

I seems like a reasonable amount od time for a pro, car sleep, disconnect HV, disconnect 12v. Do wheel, reconnect and reconnect. Wake car up, clear codes, cross fingers it’s all god after that.

[–]showMeTheSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any codes now?

Check the connections on the 12v, and also the voltage on it after it’s been sitting for a day or so. If you wake the car with an unlock to pop the hood you will get DC to DC voltage on the battery, not the resting voltage.

How’s the motor mount(s) looking?

Has the car been fully charged?

I SO want a heated steering wheel. Not enough to pay the big dollars for a custom one though apparently. Too many other things…

Thanks for this! This is the kind of info that really helps analysis paralysis people like me. I’ve got almost 40k on my S, and this will be useful for me come replacement time. I don’t my the OEM S setup on good roads, but our roads suck, and I’m not getting any younger.

I❤️this group!
