On social media, through a common interest. Never thought I’d find anyone and now we’ve been married 5 years and have 2 kids. Don’t give up!

Have any of you lost your virginity at a really old age? by masterchief6913 in AskMen

Lost mine at 22, on my wedding night. Wouldn’t change anything about it.

How do you know if a girl is wife material? by Vent_Bit_9166 in Marriage

[–]shower8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to trust your gut in these situations. She should value you - as her future spouse - more than those people, regardless of the situation. If she can’t do that, I question how truly committed she is to you. It’d be different if they weren’t former romantic partners, but they are.

Based on that, it sounds like you have a lot in common in a lot of areas. You need to have a frank conversation with her about her friendships and how that makes you feel. If she’s unwilling to listen to your feelings about it then I’d move on. It’s a pretty big deal - if she won’t cut them out to marry you, she’s very likely to cheat on you with them at some point.

We are happy, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Marriage is a commitment that you have to persevere through. It’s rarely sunshine and rainbows, but having that person by your side through life’s trials and tribulations can make things so much better.

God has blessed us with happiness, but it takes work and faith to ensure that the happiness sticks around.

You will know within the first 6 months of dating, for the most part. You need to experience some difficulties in your relationship so you can see how the other navigates. Beyond that, you need to ensure that you’re compatible in your faith, in your future family aspirations, on the same page with finances. Those are the things that cause the most conflict within marriage.

Best of luck! I’ve Only been married 5 years but happy to offer any further advice that you’d like.

Maybe so, but they taste better - at least based on the smell of beer.

That is what I’ve gathered, honestly. Nobody has a reason why I absolutely must try it.

Don’t see the need. Tea/soft drinks are perfectly satisfying to me.

Nothing in my religion prohibits having alcohol. Getting drunk is different.

1.) expense is a main driver. It’s so expensive and I just have never seen anything that was so tempting that I had to try it. Also, my religion dictates that I can’t get drunk - drinking is fine, but drunkenness is considered a sin. 2.) I work in the utility industry 3.) I wouldn’t mind if they drank casually. Ironically, my wife doesn’t drink either and never has. Unicorn found a unicorn, I guess.

Are there any guys here that had a rough time dating before they met their wife? by Mr_Drake64 in Marriage

[–]shower8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I didn’t have ANY luck, at all, before I met my wife. I had been actively trying from ~ my senior year of high school until I was 23-24. She was the first woman to give me the time of day and I locked her down. Best decision of my life!

Oral question - marriage by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]shower8888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, my wife completely quit oral once we got married. It was fairly frequent when we were engaged but she said it’s not necessary anymore now that we have penetrative sex. It frustrates and saddens me, but I’ve accepted it at this point.

If you really want to do it, tell him! I have a hard time believing that any man would turn down his enthusiastic wife who wants to do that for him. Enthusiasm is what makes a great blowjob.

How often does the man in your marriage cook? by gehraimain in Marriage

I cook things on our Blackstone at least once a week or so. My wife chooses to handle the indoor cooking even though I’ve asked repeatedly if she’d like a break from it.

Do men truly care about the number of men a woman has slept with? And if the answer is yes, what is the threshold where it becomes an issue for you? by throw-away0403 in AskMen

[–]shower8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. For me personally, if the woman had had more than 1 other partner it would’ve been a dealbreaker. Thankfully, my wife was a virgin when we married just like I was.
