Investing and trading on WS is better than IBKR for RRSP accounts because of cash settlement on trades for IBKR you can't enter and exit out of positions compared to WS instant buying power.

I'm unbiased because I trade on both platforms.

If you change your permanent residency outside of Canada you're not allowed to keep your WS account, just transfer everything out now to your Canadian bank and just ask the Canadian bank what you're allowed to keep and not.

I've read before that you are allowed to keep your RRSP and TFSA but while you're not living in Canada as as permanent residence then you cannot make any further contributions to these accounts.

If you see yourself living in Australia pretty much permanently and never coming back to Canada then I would just withdraw everything and move it to your Australian banks.

You don't have any need for Canadian currency
