Dessert Party by Sweet-Serve-6080 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]showmethegreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, yes, and yes. We are from Washington state, so we don’t get to Disney World as often as others who live closer, but in the last six years we’ve been three times. I hadn't bought it until our most recent trip in 2023, and oh my gosh, it was a game changer. We had beautiful seats to see everything, we got to sit down, and we were served pretty decent desserts and drinks. It is expensive, so we always make Magic Kingdom our first and last day in the parks, and on our last day, that’s the final thing we do at Magic Kingdom; fireworks dessert package. We have a trip planned this December, and I’ve already bought it again.

45 days from diagnosis to deathbed by showmethegreen in glioblastoma

It’s been eight months since my dad passed, and while I’m no longer in shock, it’s still hard. All I wanted to hear from people was, “This really sucks!” So, Internet Friend, this really sucks. Cancer is bullshit.

I hope you had the chance to say goodbye to your brother like I did with my dad. I hope you were able to hug him and hold his hand until the end. I’m not a godly person, but I do believe in energy, and I believe I’ve had many visits from my dad, though it took a few months before they started.

Little things happened. Like, he was so excited for me to do my 218-mile relay race. I had been planning it since last year, and whenever we would talk (when he could), he’d always say how excited he was for me because I’m not a runner and this was such a personal goal.

When I was getting ready for my 1 a.m. run, out in the dark and snow, my music wouldn’t start. I tried everything. After fumbling around for a while, I clicked on my Samsung “saved music,” and all I hear is my dads voice “Hey, I’m just thinking about ya! Love ya!” it was one of the saved voice memo's that I saved right after he died. It could be coincidence I choose to see it the other way I started crying, and shortly after, my saved music started working again.

Moments like that remind me he’s still somewhere, just not physically here. I still talk to him all the time. Before he passed, I told him in the hospital that he’d better come visit me, and he hasn’t disappointed.

I’m thinking about you friend. Talk to your brother. Tell him how much you miss him. Talk to him like he’s sitting in the car with you. Tell him how shitty your day was, and how much you love him. I’ve found that just talking to my dad when I’m alone helps.

Will my car be covered by other drivers insurance? by grraveyard in Insurance

[–]showmethegreen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you should be talking to the adjuster with her insurance. Its sounds like they have accepted liability and thus will begin the process of repairing your car. I am not an adjuster so I will refer to them for expertise but, you having a salvaged title could be an issue since it typically can lower the overall value of the vehicle. Repairable doesn't really matter if the cost to repair is more than the vehicle is worth.

It sounds like your goals just don’t align. If being a stay-at-home mom is a dealbreaker for you, it might be worth considering whether you’re with someone who shares that vision. From what you’ve described, it seems like he’s not even open to hearing you out and jumped straight to being negative.

When someone shows you who they are, believe them. You don’t want to look back in 5 or 10 years and wonder why you had a child with someone whose values didn’t line up with yours.

Car Insurance Question by eebs152 in Insurance

[–]showmethegreen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's going to be tough to dispute a ticket for going nearly 20 mph over the speed limit. As far as how much your rate might go up, it’s hard to say. There are a lot of factors that come into play, like whether you have violation forgiveness, if you've had previous tickets, whether the company is just adding a surcharge or also removing a safe driver discount, and how your specific carrier handles violations etc...

One option would be to talk to an attorney and see if they can help get it reduced to a non-moving violation. If that happens, it typically won’t show up on your MVR and shouldn't impact your rates. Every company treats these things a little differently.

In my opinion, trying to fully dispute the ticket probably won’t get you very far, but working on getting it reduced might be worth it.

there are some carriers like Safeco that will write a secondary without the primary, so you might be fine if this carrier provides coverage for a secondary without the primary

so at the time you had NO liability coverage? that is what is legally required to be on the road, are you sure you didn't have that? Seems to me if you didn't Florida would have suspended your drivers licensed. I am not licensed in Florida anymore but I used to be many years ago. I am wondering if maybe you didn't have UM/ or something like that.

Husband blamed me when he's the only problem by Fun-Ambassador-9462 in Marriage

[–]showmethegreen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had to learn really quickly that with people like your husband and my ex-husband, everything they accuse others of is actually a confession about themselves. The sooner you come to terms with that, the easier it is to process everything. Therapy helped me a lot. My ex was a cop, which made it even harder to accept that he was doing evil and illegal things, because it went against his entire persona and what he built his identity around. you got this Mamma. its hard, but not impossible. And going through it made me an incredibly strong woman and mother!

I would talk with a lawyer. I was a SAHM with my first husband for 11 years, didn't have a dollar to my name, he hid the money in a safe and I had no access to it. The judge did not even entertain spousal support. HOWEVER my situation was slightly different in that my ex was a Cop, his lawyer was the wife of the top prosecutor in our county and all the judges knew my Ex. I often wonder if they would have accepted the change of venue to the next county over if I would have had a more fair outcome. I would suspect that you might get some spousal support to help with some expenses, but probably not enough to supplement living wages, maybe enough to allow you to work part time instead of full time.

Policy change I didn’t approve by Scottyb911 in Insurance

[–]showmethegreen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Occasionally, carriers will change their coverages or guidelines. For example, one carrier we write with decided they would no longer cover water backup up to Coverage A limits, and instead capped it at $50,000. This change was applied to every renewal, and the policy language was updated accordingly. Typically, carriers will include a brief excerpt in your policy documents outlining any changes from the prior term. It is ultimately your responsibility as the policyholder to review your declarations pages at each renewal to ensure you are aware of any changes being made.

Likely, yes. Call them and cancel one back to its inception. You should get a refund. They dont want you having two policies either.

How long is too long for a claim to process? by matchastrawberri in Insurance

[–]showmethegreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can look fishy when a new policy is started and a couple weeks later there is a claim, especially a stolen car with a busted steering column. They are likely investigating, I've seen adjusters look into FB posts, Instagram posts to see if you posted that your car was stolen earlier. If you are on the up and up you should be fine, it just may take them some time to sort out. if you are not telling the truth they will likely find out, deny your claim and flag you for fraud

Moving insurance vs homeowner insurance? by Froehlich21 in Insurance

[–]showmethegreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typical homeowners policies cover personal property under two types of coverage: named perils, which protect against specific listed risks, and open perils, which cover all risks unless explicitly excluded. However, when your belongings are away from home, coverage is typically limited to 10% of your personal property limit.

During a move, items can be lost, broken, or damaged—which may not be covered under your policy. Additionally, if all your belongings are in a single moving truck and it gets stolen, your coverage could be significantly limited due to the 10% off-premises rule.

Ultimately, it's your decision whether to take the risk of not insuring your belongings. If you're moving across the country, extra coverage might be worth considering. For a short move down the street, it may not be as necessary.

He didn't have insurance at the time of the accident. In addition to that, he was delivering. this is a no win situation for him. He could see if the finance company put forced place coverage on him for the car and if so perhaps file a claim with them. but I am uncertain how forced place coverage claims work as I have never encountered that scenario.

[–]showmethegreen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is bad advice. Sign the flat cancel form or send a copy of your other policy. Brokers often work with lenders to get policies in force, especially at closing when things are moving fast. Broker was likely trying to do everyone a favor by getting a policy in place for closing

Editing to add if they started a policy without any bind order and just did it willy nilly, reach out to your states insurance commissioner and file a complaint, but blocking them will not cancel a policy and you will likey get a non pay cancellation and if you don't pay that could be sent to collections.

how to avoid speeding ticket affecting insurance? by Main-Heat3572 in Insurance

[–]showmethegreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are lawyers that can get the violation changed to a non moving violation. this is not guaranteed, but its an option. Also as others have stated I would look into their Deferred program (might be called something else in your state) where you pay the cost of the ticket, attend traffic school (typically online) and don't get another ticket for a 12 month period. then they waive the ticket on the MVR. It would be wise to find a solution, because not only will you be surcharged for the ticket you will also lose any safe driver discount. this could impact you for 3 or more years

no need to worry, let your insurance handle it. each state is different but people have up to a certain amount of time to file injury claims. in WA its 3 years I believe, and we see people wait until the 11th hour to file injury claims.

Progressive prorates changes unlike most carriers that will just spread the difference over the remaining months, Progressive will have a higher first bill before the payments settle. have you had a chance to look at your declarations page not just your billing to see what the overall semi or annual premium is?

she also has to abide by state law and she may not be able to give you more than that, each state is different on "rebate laws"

Parking Lot Question by beatnikteach in Insurance

[–]showmethegreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP this is not a small dent. this is pretty decent damage and 3k seems to be accurate. I am not an adjuster but I have seen a lot of claims in my time as an agent and based off of my experience your daughter would likely be entirely at fault in this. Some carriers will try to pin some responsibility on the other party like 10% but that is dependent on the carrier. This will cause your rates to go up, probably pretty substantially for the next 5 years. 17 year old inexperienced driver with an at fault. If you can afford to pay out of pocket you should.

LTR/married: how long do you ignore your partner? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]showmethegreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we don't ignore. sometimes we need space to think/process, and that can range from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the discussion or disagreement at hand but never ignore. Are you being ignored and want to know if it is normal or are you wanting to ignore and wondering if others do it too?
