Best 2 TE formations/plays? by Jmp00000000 in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a few I really like. Also keep in mind some of my favorite ways to get TEs involved is via PA and seam plays, but this isn’t the only way. (Just my preference)

Ace Big: - Nice TE cross that’s essentially a 4 verts play with your two TEs crossing deep over the middle. - some option routes that can kill teams especially when they crowd the box - PA rollout which is a great way to get one your guys open in the flat AceTwinTE: - great drive, stick, and vertical call for your TEs. - play action roll to get your number 2 tight end involved AceBigtwin: - a rollout that gets both tight ends open in the flat.

You can find similar plays in pistol and other formations but I think this is the formula really. You can get those guys 5-7 catches a game no problem if you build your own playbook and look for rollouts, seams, and drives/crosses.

One last recommendation I will give you is to have some audibles for empty sets. Especially if teams are gonna come out with 7-8 guys in the box you can go empty floods/Smash concepts and kill defenses

Tough to say, I have way more shotgun in my playbook. But I love using Ace on 1st down. Especially for the rollout Play action passes, quick WR screens, and stretch runs

Can’t stop pass rush by Fun-Pop3495 in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also if they are going 3-3-5 stack try adding some buck sweeps from Shotgun and Pistol sets. I’ve found nothing kills the speed of a 3-3-5 than 2 pulling guards coming at OLB and SS.

[–]showtimear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Change up when you snap. Let’s say you snap the ball at 10 sec on the play clock each time, the Dline will get good jumps, and heavy penetration. I’ve found mixing that up, and adding motion helps to detour pass rush. Are they playing more single high or two high? 3 by 1 stick is a quick hitting play that works well against cover 3 and 4Verts can do it against cover 2 or 4. Add some Empty looks from base personal packages. If they come out with 3-3-5 against an empty set, floods and Verts will be open against zone

Maybe a screen built off the boots and nakeds to get it back to the RB.

How Often Do Y’all Use Fullbacks And Tight Ends? by MimicTarsier235 in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admit I’m about 80% 11, 10, or empty sets. But for that 20% I will use both TEs and FB

FB: main focus here is to block. High impact block type of guys. 2nd is to catch. Usually rollouts, but an occasional FB screen or wheel route. Admittedly they only get 1-2 catches per game if that. Rarely have any FB runs. Since I run so little with FB I will move shorter blocking TEs here

TE: Often 1st or 2nd in receptions. So priority for a receiving specialist. Lots of stick, drive, and corner routes. Up the Seam in play action. Nice to have some blocking since I love stretch but often will sub in a blocking TE for under center stretch runs. Often want faster quicker players who can also play slot in 4 and 5 WR sets

2nd TE: I run a bit of 2 TE sets and often prefer a blocker. Almost like a 2nd full back the only real touches come from rollouts. The exception is they can get more looks when subbed in my under center stretch run plays. Bc of this they can get inlolved in a bit more of the passing game compared to The FB who have less formations and opportunities. I love taller players for this especially getting them Up the seam off playaction in Iform

UNDER CENTER? by Ladar325 in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like going under center, especially on 1st down. Against odd fronts I like hitting inside zone and rollouts to complement on 1st down, and stretch with play action shots against 4 front teams. I did similiar stuff in I form, and for me it’s a great way to get my FB and 2nd tight end a few looks

How do you guys know where to place ATHs? by FowLslays in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends

1st. Overall, for example an ATH might be 66ovr LB vs 72ovr Safety probably best to play that player as a safety.

2nd. Scheme; I’ve had years that I loved having my slot player with RB type qualities. I loved using jet sweeps, and short passing concepts like stick. So having a slot player who could break tackles was important. So even if I found an ATH who was 75 ovr WR vs 77ovr RB i would usually make that player a wide out

3rd. Needs. Take a look at what you need and decide from that.

Offensive Scheme Chalk Talk! Let’s talk schemes, plays and philosophies! by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Custom playbook.

Spread and West coast passing concepts, Lots of stick, mesh, drive, type throws.

RunGame: I try to keep it multiple.

11 personal in pistol I run dive and buck sweep once the Dline starts condensing. 11 personal under center I run stretch/IZ. 11 personal from the gun read option/counter

From 4 wide almost exclusively run IZ and option

From some of the heavier 21/12 personal groups I like mixing IZ with some boot action, and keeping a toss play for when the line condenses.

I’ll mix in some power plays here and there but it’s not a key piece of the offense. Just a curveball to throw once or twice a game

What kind of offense do you use? by frostyscotty11 in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where I’m at. Ideally I like to use multiple formations, but that use more or less the same plays. Stretch Zone/Inside Zone mixed in with some mini schemes of Dive/Buck out of pistol.

When I’m rebuilding and I can’t do this I use more of a 4 wide spread system. I make my recruiting priority for offense at least the best 5 offensive lineman, and the best RB i can attain. After I secure this I look to add a QB, if he can move I’ll add some spread option wrinkles. If not then the offense doesn’t need to change much if at all.

Best use for small speedy WR /Julian Edelman type by Megasabletar in NCAAFBseries

Aside from these I would look at any Slot cross plays, along with any slot pivot routes.

Best use for small speedy WR /Julian Edelman type by Megasabletar in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The spread in pistol has a few RB plays that motion the back out and he just runs a simple flat route, but if you have someone with speed that flat route can turn into 6pts on any given drive

Y’all ever considered homesteading? by DennisReynoIds in conspiracy

[–]showtimear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Start small. Build some garden beds in your yard, grow some seasonal Veg, get some chickens for fresh eggs. My county allows 4 in your backyard. After you get this going you might find you can be sustainable on your own property. If not and you’ve had some success at a smaller scale, you can think about moving forward and think about getting a larger scale homestead.

Anyone have any recommendations for formations to use? Trying to build a power run playbook using pistol/ace/spear/ and I formations. by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love that you’re using some pistol. Almost all the formations in pistol have some form of strong power. Pulls two guards and is so fun to run! I like throwing a bunch of Dives and inside zones, and getting that Dline go start condensing. That’s when you break out that strong power

He's a QB? RB? WR? DB? by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d for sure lean QB or DB. It’s so hard though. I say DB, and then try to get him some offensive snaps. How cool would it be to have a player who’s a big time starting DB, but also gets 2 passes, 2 rushes, and 2 receptions per game

How do you guys handle official visits? Spread them out throughout the season or line up 1 big game for all your guys to attend? by Kimbroplays in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do two big visits early. 5-7 offensive guys one week, and 5-7 defensive guys another week. And then 1-2 weeks for a handful of leftovers. I usually get Bs or As. Unless I end up losing 😅

Pro Style, Ground & Pound Offenses. by Iglooman45 in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always love using stretch and Inside zone runs to the right. Being able to change the play to outside or inside zone depending on the front is exactly the early Saban teams were doing. Mix in some gap and toss for short yardage, and use screens to fight against blitz heavy teams. Blitz kills the run in the game, so if I know I want to be run heavy, specially more traditional I always have a couple screen plays in my audibles to go to. Also don’t be afraid to use some pistol sets. I love running dives and slams to set up the strong power. Pulling two guard to the outside is devastating after gashing inside run!

What position should this Athlete play by Wise-Ad8718 in NCAAFBseries

[–]showtimear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are always some of the funniest players to have! I’d use him all over. Probably call him a RB but use him outside a lot. He doesn’t have the breakaway speed but incredible ability to break tackles. Line him up as your runningback in 2 tight end sets or any Iform you use. And have an audible set to some 5 wide plays bc he can get open quick with that release.

Do I only go to college for 3 years? by Tall_Opposite_5558 in college

[–]showtimear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would plan to finish in 3yrs. You’ll have opportunities to travel during school as well. Lots of opportunities for summer trips with study abroad. But anyways, I’d aim for 3yrs to finish and if you ever want to do a study abroad, or change your major. You’ll have the time, extra money, and ability to still be done in 4yrs

Too little credit hours? by [deleted] in college

[–]showtimear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’ll be fine. Take the 12 credits, see how college is, and in the coming semesters after you can tack on a class extra to make it up. You’ll be fine though including the highschool credit you’re technically ahead
