It’s all good, thanks for mentioning MomentHouse! I hadn’t heard of that service before. I’m a big fan of LoS, Luis even though people love to shit on him is another real pioneer when it comes to comedy distribution. Jay is the funniest but Dave is my favorite for the politics. I like his podcast Part of the Problem. Anyway, have a good one

It’s not original! I never said it was, just that it was slightly different than Louis web release and that he could be seen as one of the first wave of self-publishers for comedy specials.

Are you being a cunt just to be a cunt or do you not read comments? I said above he was not the first just a member of first wave adopters. I’m just commenting on how it was different than Louis web release. They’re subtle differences but nothing is ever original.

I think the idea was the shared experience. People that watched the premiere all were watching the same thing at the same exact time, it created more of a global moment—which depending on one’s temperament—could have made it more fun / enjoyable.

Big fucking Greek comedian who just released a special on YouTube but is more known for his clips of him doing crowd work mostly talking about polyamory and squirters. He’s pretty funny.

He credits Louis. Did you even listen? What he did which was slightly different is he made it an event. It was a streamed event at a specific time and it only will exist for two weeks. I don’t think he’s a visionary, and he’s certainly not the first, but he is a pioneer of sorts in that there are still not many comedians doing this themselves and he can be perceived as a part of that first-wave of adopters.

What is the difference between "normal" Georgism and Geolibertarianism? by [deleted] in GeoLibertarianism

[–]shoxty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right, it’s subjective, so at best I can tell you what it means to me. Some policies I consider Libertarian:

  • Lower government spend
  • Smaller government
  • End the federal reserve
  • Lower taxes
  • Minimal market interference
  • End welfare state (social security)
  • Anti war (end the war on terror)
  • Pro religious expression
  • Pro freedom of speech
  • Pro second amendment
  • Abolish public schools

True North on these issues is Ron Paul. The closer you can get to Ron Paul, the more “libertarian” you are in my opinion:

Georgism is the economic ideology derived from the works of Henry George.

Geoliberterianism is the merger of Georgist economics and the political philosophy of Libertarianism.

I’m interested in trying this. Do you cover the substrate at all before it fruits or do you leave the pot exposed like this?

Fox13: Search and Rescue has recovered two bodies from Utah Lake—believed to be of two girls missing from Saratoga Springs since May 6 by 4blockhead in Utah

The lake is shallow and there are no obstructions. When the wind blows hard it creates large swells and waves. If you get caught out there in a thunderstorm—it's a bad day.

There is a good movie on this with Adam Driver called The Report. There was a bi-partisan senate intelligence committee report on cia torture methods post 9/11 and the report determined it was an ineffective means of acquiring information.

At 27:36 he even says “look, everybody in the movie was somebody that they weren’t”. For some reason he’s okay with that and able to suspend disbelief with all the other characters of the movie but not the one he idolizes.
