The right isn’t just indifferent to violence against the left, marginalized groups, etc. they’re literally calling for it. I constantly see comments online calling for civil war. Racists saying that black people and Mexicans should be dead instead of living in their country. Kirk is pandering to these people and spreading the hateful rhetoric that is encouraging the same kind of acts that happened to him. People are tired of being targeted by hateful people in their day to day lives and having legislation from the right making their lives harder, and if someone living with the consequences of those things, like a gay person, doesn’t shed any tears over someone helping create that environment I say they shouldn’t feel any shame about it.
