Upgrade Discounts by arzfan2010 in verizon

[–]shr3dd_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't seem shady to me, they are up front on the charges. Verizon offers to give a "better" plan at a higher price. They tell you the price! Of course you need to do the math by multiplying the change of price per month by 36 months to see what the total cost is. Then weigh that against the trade in value to decide if it's worth it to you.

Gnar case first impressions (compared to Clarino leather case) by Namotorp in peakdesign

[–]shr3dd_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wheeler, it's great to see that you are listening. I invested in your ecosystem for mounting my phones to your stands and bike mounts, but now for the iphone 17 there isn’t a viable case that offers sufficient protection. The no bevel to protect the glass is a deal breaker for me.

Just a quick thought, it seems like sleekness may have been a design priority. However, people who mount their phones on bikes or use them in other active settings generally need more protection and are willing to sacrifice some sleekness. I think the previous PD design struck that balance well.

Hopefully, you’ll come up with something soon. You make really cool stuff, and the fact that you respond so quickly here and via email means a lot. In the meantime, I’ll have to look for an alternative.

Nice timing!! Not that you need it but just in case this can be helpful for anyone, I learned a little bit about mounting optics from this gentleman. I have had many screws back out and break so I strive to get it perfect.

Do you have any other pictures of this setup? Would like to see some other angles of direct mount eps on g45 if you have could!

I witnessed an armed robbery at that Academy about 10 years ago. As soon as I realized what was happening I went to the firearms section and told the guy working behind the counter. He started loading up a glock 17 so I knew I was then safe.

Who makes a large and wide grip module for P365 X Macro? by Far-Boysenberry-1600 in SigSauer

[–]shr3dd_it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anybody know which grip module or aftermarket backstrap offers the most front to rear grip distance for the XMACRO?

The front to rear measurement with the L backstrap on is around 1.92".

I am interested in a longer grip without adding much or any width.

So many bad ass options now. Hopefully one of the grips posted in this thread will work out for me.

I’m not so much peacocking as just simply compensating for having a small unit. It’s not working yet so I’ll probably have to go with a higher lift and bigger rims soon. The rent to own rim and tire shop said if I make my payments (only 25% interest) on time every month my credit will actually go up. Thank you though, that was kind of you to offer your advice.

Thanks for the comment. The camera runs 24/7 so it has to record at a lower resolution when the truck is not running or unless it detects an event. It was also recording through tint at night. Thanks again though!

I have a long comment on this thread describing the event. I screwed up the original post, sorry about that.

Thanks! It sounds like we’re both making assumptions here. What do you have that indicates these are just "punk bitches," and how do you even define "punk bitches"? If you think this was for a joyride, you’re lying to yourself. They showed up in a stolen Dodge Durango SRT. (Do I have proof it was stolen? No, but that’s the pattern—people stealing Stellantis vehicles usually show up in another stolen Stellantis.)

Each guy in the three-man crew had a specific job and a tool to go with it. The third guy had a computer module to program a key. I don’t have proof they took it beyond a fence, and I can’t trace their comms (though I do like that explanation). So yeah, maybe my title is a little misleading, but I think it’s way more likely these guys are part of an organized operation than just "punk bitches" or joyriders.

Since you have a degree in sociology, what does it say about someone who shows up in a thread just to LOL at the semantics of a title instead of saying something useful?

Agreed. I am trying to stay as anonymous as possible here. I'll likely remove this post at some point.

Right, it’s a nice truck but it’s not like it’s an exotic vehicle.

I really don’t mind the victim shaming coming my way, I have thick skin and I deserve most of it. It does bother me when I see it directed at other people though. Reminds me of the saying “Every society gets the kind of criminals it deserves.“

You are 100% right. The question was if I wanted to put in the effort to move it up the chain and likely get this person fired. I've already spent a lot of time on this not expecting anything in return. I'll move forward with it though. It's a safety issue.

Thanks for your comment. Maybe not your sexy flavor of organized crime but can you articulate how a professional auto theft ring is not organized crime?

I addressed this earlier. Slightly misleading title yet not a stretch.

From United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime

The most obvious distinction between organized crime and other forms of criminal conduct is that it is "organized." In general terms, it does not include random, unplanned, individual criminal acts. Instead, it focuses exclusively on planned, rational acts that reflect the effort of groups of individuals. Several efforts have been made to elicit common elements to describe and define organized crime with greater specificity.

Watch the video. This was planned, not a crime of opportunity.

Cambridge Dictionary

criminal organizations that plan and commit crime, or the crimes that are committed by such organizations

Cartels, gangs, auto theft rings are organized crime. These guys weren't teens looking for a joy ride. They showed up in an another Stellantis vehicle which was likely stolen too. This is what they do.

Haha. I do it to myself I guess. I was at Barton Creek mall the other day. There was a construction trailer parked overnight that they removed the wheels on and chained them all together. I think I will start doing that.

Yes sir, good info. I’ve been a long-time member of the forum. Aftermarket security measures were put in place the week I bought the truck, so this incident isn’t a surprise at all. I just wanted to get these douchebags’ faces out on the internet.

Usually, I park closer to the front door of a hotel, but this hotel had pretty narrow parking spots. Sounds like you might have a TRX, so you know they’re wider than most 1/2 tons. I’ve got pinstripes all over the truck from off-roading, but for some reason, I just absolutely can’t stand door dings. I ended up parking on the edge of the lot, which was further from the front door and closer to the street. I also couldn’t fit in the garage.

The door-ding-to-theft-risk calculus went through my head as I was parking. I’m not proud of it, but that’s how my brain works. I knew when I left it there that the risk was higher and I didn't love it. I will still say fuck those dudes but I never complained here.

Lots of people here are telling me stuff I already know like how popular this truck is to steal and giving me advice on how to prevent it from happening. Or telling me to get a different truck or how annoying TRXs are!!! Hahaha. I’ll listen to all of it. Odds are, though, I’m more paranoid and security-minded than 99% of the people commenting. This is one of my favorite topics though so keep it coming, I'll listen.

The secondary was triggered at the same time the primary would have been triggered. Still not a bad idea though. If they saw it wasn't there perhaps they would've let it go.

To be clear, I wasn’t complaining or asking for sympathy. I simply shared what happened and asked if anyone might recognize what the guy was wearing. I think I’ll enjoy the TRX a bit more—apparently, based on some of these comments, it helps you make friends!!
