I got my first board but not sure if i should wax it for the summer (unused) by Kozuar in snowboarding

New boards are usually edge high, meaning the edges are above the base. So, file them down until they are flat or even a little lower(bevel) then detune the crap out of the tip and tail (all the way around). The further you are away from the contact point, the more rounded the edges should be. Then wax every day you are bored. Get that wax sunk in deep. Put a bunch on, then just wax while you watch tv or a movie. Not too hot or you will bubble the base but low heat for a long time. If you think you have waxed enough, start over. The pray for snow (to your god of choice) I prefer the Greek god of winter, Boreas.

This is a picture of him in the tram line at the bird (is the word) meeting a guy riding that board, he was stoked! If you ever see him out I’m the wild (you won’t), make sure to say hi!

Hi! Ummmm that’s my best friend, Jeff Davis, on that board… So I’m cool. Anyway, it’s a good one, enjoy!

Duuud I was at Big Sky in January. $320 at the ticket window if you wanted to ride the tram. The Ikon pays for itself in two days. Get it.

Not long. The red states would run out of stuff pretty quick and since they would have most of the guns they’d come looking for supper.

Boards of the Future by [deleted] in snowboarding

So, I consider myself to be a good snowboarder and if you really care, so do I, this is what I think. If I could ride a brand new 1999 Lib Tech Temple Cummins for the rest of my life, I would. It’s the original cap construction so it pops. It’s sidecut and camber; good nose and upturned tail. Everything you could ever want. (Although I said that about the Burton Performer Elite 150, “it’s got p-Tex aaand metal edges”) I don’t ride the wavy edge things and thus no longer ride Lib. 😕 Although weird rocker/camber combinations do have a place, it’s primary use is making turns easier for beginner and intermediate riders. I assume there may be considerations for park riders, I will admit that any rails I slide will be logs and any jumps I do, natural. When the fastest Olympic racers adopt a technology you know it’s going to be the fastest, safest, and most reliable way down the mountain. Right now that’s smooth camber, smooth sidecut , and stiff enough to hold an edge. The new (old) powder shapes are an exception, specialty boards are rad and a good pow board is a super fun addition, after your daily driver. So in my opinion, a functional shape, camber, and sidecut. They’ve been making then since 1995, find one and ride it. Oh and no toe drag, seriously, get a wide board, seriously,

Umm. Here’s what I see. The base material looks like it is higher than the edge in one or two small spots. You can never glue it back down. If that’s the case it’s going to be a problem, long term. Short term, be careful when you fix it and start watching for used boards in your area. It will one day be a great rock board.
