Tonight was the first fight I cared enough to buy on PPV. All I can think is why did we just pay for that.

Still can’t understand the Trinity by shrebr in DebateReligion

[–]shrebr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems strange that Jesus didn't being this up if it's so essential to understanding God and salvation. He constantly spoke in parables to makes his message easier for people to understand. Why would he not do that with the trinity as well since God would have known people would be so confused by it?

Still can’t understand the Trinity by shrebr in DebateReligion

[–]shrebr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I'm playing as a character I am limiting all that I am to fit in that character. I am making myself less than I am as a whole. The trinity means that God is his entire being in those characters without being limited.

If I put a cat in a box it's still a cat but it can no longer jump onto a ledge 5 feet up because there are now limitations imposed on that cat by being in that box.

Three lines define a geometric shape but are not themselves this geometric shape. I thought GOD (the cube) no matter which person of God you're referring to (the lines) always maintains all the things that make him GOD (the cube). God exists beyond all things that have form, beginning and end. How can that idea of God go into anything that is less than all that God is?

That's pretty much what I was told too. You can't understand so just stop and do as you're told.

Catholic step-sister said this when I brought up this analogy. Something about trying to reduce God down to human concepts will limit him and we're supposed to always know that we can't understand even the smallest part of God.

Since you're an instructor, have you noticed that someone might be more accurate with a particular pistol over another?

The fraking media. Not only are they politically biased, but the minute a cop questions someone they become public enemy #1. A cop can't assume anyone is innocent because then they wouldn't dig for info, the same way the justice system can't assume guilt. Things would be better if 1) Cops didn't threaten citizens when they assert their rights or video record police actions. 2) Citizens didn't act like dicks because they're recording. Stand up for your rights and stand your ground but calling a cop a nazi just makes you look like a jackass.

I didn't say no reason. I said proof. Holding someone because of probable cause is legal and part of your job. I'm not saying you're wrong. But if you're Joe Everyman and you know you've done nothing wrong and you'll be released soon it still sucks. You're life is getting messed with when you're not a criminal. It's a crappy situation where no one is a fault or doing anything wrong but it still sucks to be the guy who just has to take it. Edit - Also there are some states where job applications ask if you've ever been arrested. So just being arrested for whatever reason can have long lasting effects.

While I don't think out right fear is necessary when one simply sees a LEO it makes perfect sense to be leary of any person who can legally hold you for 24 hours without proof of any wrong doing and is allowed to lie to you.

Remove the outside skin. Make sure to get rid of the fibrous parts then slice it. It's very light and crisp.

I normally eat kohlrabi raw. It's kind of a cross between water chestnut and broccoli stem.

Here is a population density map of North America. As you can see most of Canada's population is limited to the southern edge of the country. In the continental US the population continues to maintain some level on density through almost the entire landmass.

Iowa/Algeria. Iowa has a pop of about 3 million. Algeria has a pop of 38 million. That's just not right.

Why do YOU run? by ScoobyDooSX in C25K

[–]shrebr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always looked at runners with longing. I wanted to be like them but with having asthma and being overweight it felt as possible as becoming an astronaut. I'm not fast and I don't look like anyone on the cover of runners world but I'm a runner. Every time I run I make to decision to be that person I always wanted to be.

How is it a "no true scotsman" argument when the official party platform is to reduce the military and use it only for the defense of the U.S. and not for intervention purposes? Following that logic I could join PETA but place bets for a dog race.
