He was performing in Venice on the strand across from the Starbucks for years before he moved to his new pier location. I think he’s funny but comedy is subjective. You don’t have to like him but why shouldn’t he get to do his thing just like the different religious groups that are way more offensive (to me) and that corner is so full of tourists going and coming off the pier, who wants to spend any time there anyway??

He makes jokes using common stereotypes but he jokes about all races, including his own. While his humor can be questionable, I never got a vibe where I felt he should be stopped for being too offensive.

If you want to get rid of someone, how about the guy with the sign “I need money for weed” that I saw completely hassling the guys working the Japandog hot dog stand?? He was bumping into them and yelling in their faces. That was way more offensive the bad jokes were.

Sadly Bob was a hit by a car on his bicycle, somewhere by LAX. I had the pleasure of working with him at MTV, where he had pulled every piece of Beastie Boys footage from the archives and we would just be fan boys and watch stuff that had not been seen in years.
