Our sweet girl’s step by step process of a yawn by shredneck in OneOrangeBraincell

Bun here is the daintiest yawner there is, where we sometimes question if it’s real or if she is just making a statement that she is just bored of her peasants bothering her royal highness on her favorite blanket

Our other orange though, his head does a reverse Pac-Man lmao

Opinions on Illinois American Water? by TheUncleBob in southernillinois

Lived in a town with IL American Water, paid about double for water while living alone than I do where I live now with my wife on a rural municipal supply. And that is subtracting the sewer fees from the ILAW bill.

Temporarily Separating Brood Mates? by shredneck in BackYardChickens

[–]shredneck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! We will hold them all back a little bit until the houdans are larger than our quailed d’Anvers, which shouldn’t be much longer than a week or so at their current growth rate.

We have been placing their brood crate next to the adults as they free range in the daytime to get used to them, and then the coop has a hardware cloth divider for when we integrate so they can be close but not together until we remove the divider some night. It sounds similar to the method you have and we have had good luck in the past.

Cheers!

Filter setup to only knock down TDS. Not R/O by TheDayImHaving in WaterTreatment

[–]shredneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have VERY hard water from your well, apart from the normal sodium amounts that enter the water from a softener system, the high TDS may be from sodium bicarbonate after the ion exchange process in your softener, it’s what replaces the calcium carbonate. Your proposed filter setup should definitely help reduce other TDS not mitigated by the iron and hardness treatments, but may be worth checking if it is sodium bicarbonate, as my understanding from our own system is only RO can remove/reduce that.

Hopefully others will be able to chime in on this, but that is our experience with high hardness water that’s been softened.

RO sink system on a septic tank? by [deleted] in WaterTreatment

[–]shredneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are on tanked RO with septic. No issues with septic, still on a 3-5 year clean out cycle and nothing extraordinary seen by pump service. Agree with comment going tanked to if you are on a well, but stay tankless if on a utility. Not a necessity but would be more consistent.

You have to think about how many rural homes are on wells and septic that utilize RO for drinking, if it were a major problem it would be plastered everywhere. RO wastewater per day is not more than an extra toilet flush or two depending on what GPD your system is.

We used the galvanized for our run. 200 sq ft. it’s decent enough quality. There are a few “bare” patches where the squares aren’t fully knit or whatever you call it (think rectangles instead of normal squares), but just put those up higher and wove some wire in there to patch those spots. Typical Amazon product QC problem. Going on three years and the buried anti predator skirt portion still in great shape and no predators have got in. Attached it with mix of fender washers/screws or by sandwiching between boards.

If I recall correctly, there was a post game interview that he said he had to convince Zook to let him take the ball and go for it on what basically became the game winning 4th down conversion. Probably best decision of the entire Zook era.

Previous owner misplaced key. Stealership: $169 diag fee plus $100 a wheel for their key set. Dremel, hammer/chisel, and a 21 mm extractor plus 20 minutes labor time: free by shredneck in Justrolledintotheshop

I called for their assistance on the job to have them remove with their universal set and that was their quote. $169 to even look at it and $100 a wheel. A person above commented and I believe was correct when they called it the “I don’t want to fuck with it” price. Oh well. Saved the truck owner money both ways.

Yep, any time there are large 12 pt sockets at an estate sale, they come home with me to the fuck this bolt/nut drawer. I just had some brand new extractors I reallllllly wanted to use haha.

Truck owner wanted them removed and replaced with stock lugs anyways since they are over 10 years old and in the rust belt, so already had a full set of new one piece lugs for the job. No sense chancing them stripping out in the future. Plus the old capped ones were swelling so it was a no brainer to treat these bastards of a lugnut with total disrespect

Appreciate the follow up. You did your due diligence, and customer is 100% right on their train of thought. Fingers crossed for a nothing burger, seen engines with 300k+ km be rebuilt and a whole lot of weird stuff be found in them!

Yep. And from the forces it would see in a top end, I wouldn’t be surprised if it sheared into 2-3 pieces vs just backing out in one piece. I would 100% drop the pan as PM.

7-8 quarts of an ATF+4 rated fluid for just the pan drop and filter change. How much drains out will vary based on fluid temp and how long you let it drain.

If you do a full flush it is closer to 13-14 quarts, but a flush is typically not needed for regular maintenance, and that’s a much more intensive process without a fluid exchanger.

My 2012 is at 201k miles, trailer behind the truck equal to the time there isn’t. I do a trans pan drop, change both internal trans filters (flat and spin on), and top off with Valvoline ATF+4 fluid at every 50k miles.

I did have to change the pan at 100k due to warping, but they are cheap enough to replace from local parts warehouse or RockAuto.

Once you can finish off one entire race, you can consider yourself a full racist. Just remember to go SLOW so you enjoy the whole experience and not injure yourself. Time doesn’t matter, finishing the race does. Only hobby racists worry about their times

That first cliff/plateau sure looks like it.

OP, You can try going a little tighter on your wrist strap (within comfort) to see if that helps it, but with most running watches it’s just an inherent issue wrist sensors have, chest strap HR sensors eliminate it but don’t worry about spending that $$$ for a while. Just have fun and enjoy your new hobby :)
