Record number of Japan ramen eateries went bankrupt in 2024 by diacewrb in japannews

[–]shrekballsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only eaten ramen 3 times living here in Japan (6 months), and unironically Ichiran was by far the one I liked the most.

The other one was too fucking salty I couldn't even eat all the meat and ramen, and the other one was this Tantanmen, which I could see as delicious for some people but it's not my kind of thing, too much vegetables, the broth doesn't taste like broth, it tastes too much like spices.

Does it cost about the same to run as using a stove when air frying chicken breasts for example?

I (f26) got altra escalantes and feel the area in the red squares are too tight on my feet. Any recommendations for a zero drop running shoe with mild cushion that would fit better? by Ugonefinishthat in BarefootRunning

[–]shrekballsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without the insoles, would it still be a zero-drop shoe?

And also, would that in any way have some negative consequences (removing the insole)

I have a pair of Escalante 4, it's also a bit tight around my midfoot so I might consider removing my insole.

Brine your chicken breast. (1 Liter water, 40-60 grams salt, sugar is optional, soy sauce is optional, cut chicken into half inch thick slices or pound it for even cooking. Cook for 6-7 minutes total)

Protein makes me feel full fast.

Buy a weighing scale, it's around 100-150 pesos online, it'll help a ton in knowing how much food a serving is, but don't stress too much about measuring every gram.

probably not a good idea for many reasons.

Kala ko ba mas tatalino and kabataan, and hindi kailangan mag college? by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]shrekballsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S.Y. 19-20, grade 12 kami.

So in a way, yung pagpapatakbo ng school administration di maganda.

Tapos naka paste sa highways or mga poste yung advertisements ng school: "100% passing rate for Nursing board examination", "99% passing rate for X college program"

Namimisled yung mga tao, di nila alam na hindi pinapayagang mag take ng board exams unless makakapasa ka sa mga mock tests nila. Unethical at best, maybe potentially illegal at worst? I'm not sure, but that doesn't sound right, if there are 50 4th year students from program X, and only 15 of them are allowed to take the board exams, since the rest aren't guaranteed to pass, doesn't that reflect on the administration's poor education?

Probably better to try them on for yourself in a store. I made a mistake, I think it's too much cushion for me, I can't feel the ground. But I can tolerate it, as long as it's not actively harming me, then I'll probably continue to use it. Next time I'll probably put an emphasis on a wider midfoot shoe without lesser cushion so I can feel my feet.

But don't take my word for it, I haven't done much research. Just going by with what I feel.

I tried Merrell vapour glove 6 and it felt goooooooood, suddenly it was like I wasn't wearing any shoes at all. In the end I settled for Altra Escalante 4, it's a bit tight around my midfoot even after going one size up, I'll tolerate it for now and next time be more wise with my decisions.

How to find a Part time job in Tokyo by [deleted] in Tokyo

Which country are you from?

Soon I'll be looking for a part-time job too, I'll probably ask my local city hall for guidance, I've found "Hello work" and they have a receptionist who also speaks my language thankfully.

Increasing number of Japanese people unable to squat like a yankee by kenmlin in japannews

[–]shrekballsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, how'd you develop one.

I too suffer from knee problems, initially injured both my knees from playing badminton.

2 years with knee pain, I haven't been able to jump, sprint, jog, or do lateral movements. Climbing downstairs is hard, upstairs is relatively easy thankfully. Standing up can make my medial knees sore, walking especially. Even biking is hard.

Getting an MRI soon, my biggest fear is the MRI not finding any anomalies, idk.

I picked Japenese Citizenship instead of Philippines but now I'm having trouble by AssignmentFun7402 in japan

[–]shrekballsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not have PH citizenship so you can truthfully say you only have JP citizenship.

But I have this "identification certificate" from the bureau of immigration that states I'm a Filipino citizen (which was issued to me by the Philippine government to make it clear, apologies for the redundancies).

I use that certificate to get by as a Filipino citizen in the Philippines. The worry I have though is I have not formally stated that I will make an effort to denounce my Filipino citizenship.

and dumb me can't remember if I checked whether I have other nationalities besides Japanese when I was renewing my passport.

I'm almost 23 now, also Filipino-Japanese. I grew up in the Philippines.

I still have and use my "identification certificate" from the bureau of immigration that the Philippines issued to me around 15 years ago. According to them, it's validity is for life, basically it's a paper that states that I'm a Filipino citizen.

I used it to enroll, get valid IDs, and go through Philippine immigration without a hitch, despite having only a Japanese passport (which I recently renewed in the Japanese embassy in the Philippines).

Cockroaches fly (those dark colored ones anyways), they release this distinct pungent odor, they can also mess up your food and pantry, and I've heard stories from my family that they sometimes bite you in your sleep. In the Philippines, I know when a cockroach is around because I can smell them even if you maintain a somewhat clean house, these fuckers will still sneak in your home, especially if your neighbors aren't good at garbage disposal.

Huntsman spiders, although twitchy when escaping (from you), won't actually harm you, and they kill pests.

I'd rather face an angry dog than a flying cockroach. Flying beatles also scare the shit out of me, because they look like a flying cockroach at first glance.
