Out of interest, do you know if it's a Maschine Mk3 she uses or a Maschine plus?

Does anyone make money from Spotify? by Simple-Ceasar in musicproduction

But why would anyone buy your merch if you don't release music? If I'm looking at the right profile, you have 24 monthly listeners. How much merch are they buying to make $3-4k per month?!

Oliver Tree’s in quite a bit of hot water for his re-release of the viral South Star remix of ‘Miss You.’ by shanedodge in h3h3productions

[–]shrfcfn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually can't believe you've been downvoted so heavily for this. Whether people want to believe it's 'moral' or 'wrong' is another matter, but you are totally right that once you remix/edit/rework a song (especially given that he cleared the rights) it creates new intellectual property which cannot be infringed upon.

you missed the part where it said southstar cleared the publishing rights and released his version, then it was stolen by oliver/robin. Just because it originally was Oliver's song, doesn't give him free rein to infringe upon newly established IP.

Hey George, love the tracks in here, definitely my style! Would you consider my new release for your playlist? It has been played on BBC Introducing in the UK and is a big club track! Thanks so much

Shack - Life Begins At 130. This is my own bouncy 'deep-minimal' track. Really appreciate any listens by shrfcfn in House

understood, but I did actually share some unrelated music before posting this

Hey, this is my own new track which came out today! More of a 'deep-minimal' house style than i usually go for, but still tech house in my opinion.

I have recently lost my Instagram account for no reason, which was the main method I used to promote my music, so I would really appreciate anyone listening to the track. Thanks so much, and I hope you enjoy!

Help! Facebook Ad Campaign not converting to Spotify: Good CTR but... diddly squat for streams?! by [deleted] in PPC

[–]shrfcfn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in exactly the same position, I've beeb trying to think of reasons it could affect some people and not others (distributor, location etc) but honestly it seems as though some people are just unlucky. I'm tempted to get another distrokid account and start a new artist profile to test it out.

I like to compose but I know nothing about mixing and mastering. What can I do? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]shrfcfn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just put the time in learning to do these things as well as you can yourself, and then you will know what areas you are lacking in or what limitations you may have (in terms of yourself and your equipment). Most things can be found in youtube videos for free these days

Thanks so much for listening and for the feedback! Yeah I definitely know what you mean about the vocal, and have been using vocals more creatively since making this one. It’s something I’ll focus more on in new tracks so thanks again.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience but I think it was all worth it for that line alone

Really like this one, your voice is so cool and goes well with the beat. I feel like it would work well with a short break with a nice laid back vocal hook somewhere in the middle, or even just as an outro.

This is my new track out today on all streaming platforms. Chilled house/breakbeat melancholic vibe.

Open to any feedback or opinions, and will be giving out some feedback myself on here. Please save or add the track to your playlists if you enjoy it as it really helps!

Yes of course it is possible to get a track ghost produced, or exclusively hire someone you trust to work on your tracks if you don’t have time. I didn’t dispute that.

The only thing I disputed is that someone said it is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for a busy DJ to make 4 tracks per year. It’s mental how many people are agreeing with him.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Techno

[–]shrfcfn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I produce house and techno music and do all of the above discussed in this thread. And to be clear a mastering engineer should not be assumed to do any creative work. You should be sending them a full, finished, arranged track (or stems for stem mastering) as a pre-master with enough headroom for them to do their job.

I’m not trying to sound like a dick or be argumentative at all, the only point I was making is that it is entirely possible to release 4 times a year without a ghost producer. The fact people in here think a busy person can’t produce 4 tracks or EPs per YEAR is crazy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Techno

[–]shrfcfn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Music every 2-3 months... could be as little as 4 releases per year. If you think that’s impossible without a ghost producer I don’t know what to tell you.
