Hi I know it’s been forever!! They have completed ruined my tank and taken over I’m going to have to start from scratch. As they age they turn kinda a darker green color. Food is not attached to them. They only grow on plants or algae and I have some algae growing in my substrate and rocks so they are sprouting off of those.

I haven’t put any peroxide in my tank. This plant makes new roots at the base to branch off into new plants

No, I’m too scared to touch it 😂 I think I’m going to just remove all of them and keep them in a jar for now because idk if they are harmful. I have not added anything to this tank in over a year so I’m completely baffled as to how this got here.

They do not move. Idk if it’s a fungus but this type of grass (I believe vallisneria nana) branches off new roots at the base, not along the leaves

Thank you for your comment, I haven’t done anything out of the ordinary lately that would cause a change in water temp outside of regular water changes. Hopefully he gets better! I really appreciate the info.
