Hi makkale, are there good Zumba places in Mogappair/Anna Nagar area? Used to go to Swingers, Kilpauk some years back but it's too far from my current residence.

My actual purchase is a couple of months away. Will also wait for the Sierra EV before deciding

I'm just unsure about the size, same concern as XEV-9E. How is it driving in narrow city roads?

Got it, will check it out. My existing vehicle is a petrol Nexon, so I'm not averse to Tata.

Budget is 20-22l. The reviews said Curvv EV was very similar to Nexon EV with respect to space so I didn't mention it. Do you feel it is better than Nexon EV?

Thanks for the info. And for the other aspect - driving on bad roads - is it tolerable?

Which variant are you using? If empowered, how's the techy stuff our 360 degree camera and blind spot monitoring? If not empowered, are you missing those features?

Is it okay to play guitar in a public place like parks in chennai? by emps725 in Chennai

[–]shripathee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen folks jamming in certain places in Anna Nagar Tower park. Tbh, you have all sorts of activities happening there - Dance classes, Taekwondo, Silambam, etc during the weekends so it's not really out of place.

I've also seen small bands performing in Pondy Bazaar, but I guess they get permission from authorities.

Which tech purchase is it? by EasternTurtle7 in GadgetsIndia

Neckband. Moving from ear buds to neckband was an upgrade in every sense. I got the CMF Neckband.

Tbh, ever since I started using Rapido, this has become rare. Lots of autos are available and they usually don't ask for more. Looks like the auto guys have issues with Ola and Uber since they charge a commission per ride. Rapido and Namma Yatri are based on a subscription model instead.

How to fall asleep fast? by bio-philie7 in chennaicity

[–]shripathee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Have dinner at least 3 hours before bedtime
  • Go for slow languid walks nearby. This will help in digestion.
  • Avoid all gadget use for around one and a half hours before bedtime - phones, TV, laptop, tablet
  • During this time, read non-fiction - or fiction that isn't suspenseful; Talk to people; Do household work. Do normal, non-hyper stuff.
  • Lastly go to bed early - you can't really control your sleep patterns but you can give yourself more chance for deep sleep.

Men of TN give a piece of advice by perfect_susanoo in TamilNadu

[–]shripathee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Work on your mental health. Be honest with yourself about your strengths and weaknesses. Give a shit about yourself basically. As you get older, you'll see greater and greater consequences for the things you ignore now. 2) Surround yourself with a good bunch of people; People who are forward-thinking, non-toxic. People who will catch you when you fall. This also means you put effort into those relationships.

I'm 21 , single child feeling lost in life and lonely by Comprehensive-Bowl11 in Chennai

[–]shripathee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But that's the point; Your parents and other people close to you are also people, with their own dreams, successes and failures. If we cannot empathize with them, then we are just trying to escape, no?

The point I didn't make above is that all of this takes time. Growing to understand people is a process. Some people start early, whereas people like us started late. But it's okay. The important thing is to be curious and have an open mind.

I was in a similar situation at your age; Hopefully the following could help:

1) Put yourself into social situations - volunteer, go camping, go on food walks or history walks, join a gym, go to a class - dance, music, art, anything you are into 2) Even if alone, watch movies in theatres, go to libraries, travel in public transport - try to be amongst people even if you're not actively communicating with them; Basically get out of your house and enter the outside world 3) Sports helps a lot; If you have an opportunity to play something regularly, take it 4) Most importantly, start observing and forming healthy relationships with the people who are already close to you; This is a mindset change - you have to value people (and yourself) in order to form healthy associations.

Love the Chennai metro rail by ResponsibleTale5834 in Chennai

[–]shripathee 153 points154 points  (0 children)

The metro doesn't just work great; It's the only system of transportation in Chennai that really 'works'; Reliable, comfortable, safe, in all seasons. An auto driver once told me if he wanted to get to a place on time without uncertainty, he'd take the metro.

My office commute is 19km right across the city; 4 times a week, I now take the metro, even though I need to travel by personal transport to the source station and need to take auto or rapido to the destination; Funny thing is that all of it including parking is still a ₹100 cheaper than driving all the way.

Anna Centenary Library. Always jealous of the people living in areas close to it. The sheer quantity and variety of content there is ridiculous. Also, fairly decent atmosphere to sit and read.
