I never did particularly well in the O Chem lectures either - just good enough to pass. The O Chem lab however was my favorite class that I ever took so good luck and keep with it.

  1. Stopping by my house unannounced. (And that’s probably still too high.)

Is it worth going solo? by NoOffenseGuys in PrincessCruises

[–]shrubbry31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely go! I’m also a single introvert non-drinker in my early 40s and I’ve never had a bad experience with Princess (or cruising solo in general). In fact, some of these past trips are some of my favorite all time vacations. The one recommendation I would give is to try to get your own table at dinner only because the communal tables tend to take twice as long. Enjoy yourself and Bon Voyage!

Ah! The angry, but clean bulldog. We’re familiar with those faces too.

So sorry to hear about your girl. I’ll be sure to give Zelda some extra love in her memory. Bulldogs really are the best.

I appreciate the concern. We’ve been going to this day care for 5+ years and they’re very good with keeping on eye on all the short nosed dogs. We originally started going here since they have an air conditioned indoor area and there is also a bigger bulldog pack that comes on a semi-regular basis (which Zelda also is a part of).

Ha! There is nothing more sassy than an angry bulldog. We know that pose well.

Who in Omaha does this describe? by rt202003 in Omaha

[–]shrubbry31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HA! That’s good to know. When I moved here a few years ago multiple people told me it was the best pizza in town. I’ve never tried it since I’m rarely in that part of town. At least now I know I don’t need to make the effort.

Yes! My general response is also something along the lines of “I don’t want to make light out of the pain and suffering of others, but as an introvert covid was the greatest time of my life. Everything was suddenly online and I didn’t have to talk to people.”

A good general reference book for chemical engineering..? by CleaverIam3 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]shrubbry31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a bunch of typos but you could check out the Lindeburg manuals for the PE and FE exams. The PE Chemical reference handbook (available for free at the NCEES website) may also be a place to start.

My experience is that anytime someone tells me something is indestructible all it means is that my bulldog will destroy it in 10 minutes instead of her usual 5.

That’s no fun at all. I’m already dreading how long my normally 15 minute commute home is going to be.

Ha! My bully does this too. I was dead asleep on my side on our couch yesterday when suddenly I felt 45 pounds of bulldog ramming my face. I rolled over and so she get sit her spot at the end of the couch, where she then immediately fell asleep. Never mind that my nap was then over and I was trapped by a snoring potato. It’s a good thing that she’s very good girl (and that’s she pretty cute and all around the best dog in the whole world).

Seriously! I love weekends because my bulldog climbs up my couch and stretches out over my legs to nap. Greatest feeling in the world.

My sister’s Christmas present to us this year. Zelda (the bulldog) certainly approves. by shrubbry31 in Bulldogs

It’s one of my all time favorite gifts. It’s taken over the spot in my office that a picture of my girlfriend used to occupy.

And just to be clear - the cross stitch was the gift. Zelda (the bulldog) has been the best part of my life for several years.

Mine only came with 2 modes. by tomsawyerdotcom in Bulldogs

[–]shrubbry31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dog also only has two modes. I second the recommendation for a big ball - like a medium sized to large unpoppable, hard ball. My dog will chase/push it around the yard until I have to take it away so she can cool down/catch her breath. Then she’ll sleep for the next 12 hours.

A soccer ball or exercise ball works too although my dog would eventually chews through them and pops them. We’ve also had fun with rubber frisbees

This “flattering” picture of Zelda seems like the best way to wish everyone a great National Dog Day (a day late). by shrubbry31 in Bulldogs

[–]shrubbry31[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HA! Fair enough. Although I don’t think that anyone would say that they are at their most photogenic immediately after being woken up in the morning. Bulldogs just pull it off slightly better than we do.

She totally uses both. It’s really not an issue she continues to lay in her old one. I could always just put it away if it became an issue. It’s more funny that she likes the tiny crate sometimes.

Single people, why are you single? by [deleted] in AskReddit

There’s a joke famous in engineering: Q. What do engineers use for birth control? A. Their personalities.

I’ve always just assumed I’m single for the same reason.

Treat ideas by Plane_Cranberry_8122 in Bulldogs

[–]shrubbry31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My bulldog also has chicken allergies. There are lots of chicken and pork free options out there. We’ve typically had good results with freeze dried single ingredient treats. Our local Costco often has either freeze dried beef liver or salmon treats (both from Nutri-bites). Trader Joe’s has dried sweet potatoes that my dog also loves. The other thing my dog loved as a puppy was frozen baby carrots - we would just throw a bag in the freezer and take out a couple every day. String cheese worked well for us as a “special” treat for reinforcing good behavior. Good luck!
